They should at least be on track for some comp picks unless they decide to go crazy in FA. Moore is definitely getting a big contract. Daniels before the injury would have received a boatload but still should get a decent sized contract. I think some team gives Harris a nice deal. If a team likes Fields he’ll get paid too.

Feels like the first time in a while that they will get a decent comp pick. But even if they do, the picks will not be til the 2026 draft.

Yeah and I think that’ll be the perfect time to have a couple extra picks. A big splash at the draft in Pittsburgh in what’s hopefully a better QB class than this one would be a cool story.

Guess what- you can be good at your job but also be a shitty teammate. Those aren't mutually exclusive behaviors.

You can also resent your manager and your teammate bc the manager applies different rules to different players.

To say it "didn't affect anything" presumes you know their feelings.
I don't pretend to know any Steelers' feelings, but I know that era of Steelers were a bunch of me 1st dudes who didn't win shit and were very
They won a lot. In their overlap they made the playoffs in

14 and lost tk the ravens (bell didnt play).
15 they lost to denver in the second round with both bell and brown out and Ben with a hurt shoulder.
16 they made the conference championship game.
17 was the jaguars defensive debacle the year shazier was paralyzed.

Saying they didnt win shit while blaming bells and browns personality is some wild ass revisionist history.

If you want to blame 2018 on this (bells holdout and browns “departure”) ill listen but most of that teams issues were on defense (shazier etc)

Wasnt that after he didnt return from his hold out and was essentially already off the roster?

Forget the timing. That's as much disrespect and disdain you could have for a teammate. It's like pissing on someone's grave.

We just have different expectations. They did win a bunch of games in the RS. Yippee I guess.

Considering the talent on that roster, to me they didn't win shit.
But when the new "standard" is being content with making the playoffs, I can see how/why fans have been conditioned to deem those years as successful.

I think without Pickens the expectation has to be a bit of a rock fight and that really favours the Eagles. Think one of the DL or Wilson would have to have one hell of a day to make this work.
I am really interested to see if the Eagles let Hurts throw it more than 20 times and if he forces the ball to AJ.

I’m hoping they just have Benton take the place of Ogunjobi. I think that’s long term gonna be the right position for him.

I don’t think you remember how bad the defense was during the Killer B era

Steelers weren’t likely to win this game anyway without these guys…now, no chance lol

I really don't understand this perception. The Steelers could get blown out on Sunday - playing an 11-2 team on the road is always a rough assignment - but this is not a bad matchup for the Steelers and winning rock fights is absolutely the thing Tomlin and teams like this do best. Making this a 16-13 slog is 100% what they want and need to do. It's one thing for lolAndylol to trash them and assume they will get smoked but for those who actually analyze things and don't just get off on bashing them, this is a game they can win.

did you do preseason record predictions lol? I'm curious what you had us going. 0-17?
Or worse. He's a joke with this crap but because he adds lol's to every sentence people think his nihilism and constant negative shit is good natured fun.

Elliott out is gonna be brutal, he's been grading out as one of the best run defense safeties in the league this year. Against the #1 rushing team in the league o_O

Edit: I guess this is what we got Sutton for

Sutton ain't really a great run defender though, is he?

I'd be inclined to run a lot of 3 ILB packages, or bring Fitzpatrick into the box a lot with Kazee staying deep unless they show that Hurts is willing to try and win a game with his arm.

He was good for Detroit in 2023 (as a CB). Reports seem to indicate Sutton is working with the safeties in practice so maybe a committee approach. Sutton hasn't really gotten much work besides week 13 against Cincy where Beanie only played 6 snaps.

People note that this game isn't that meaningful for the Steelers. It's actually even less meaningful for Philadelphia - they'd need to pick up 2 games to get the #1 seed and they are basically locked into the #2. Unlike an array of local media who think the Steelers should punt this game, the Eagles really don't have much to play for and won't until January.

Huh, fair enough.

I think at this point Sutton's athleticism feels more like a safety so him working there makes sense, and better him than Killebrew. I still don't feel good about him as a direct substitute though.

That hurts a lot. I think Elliot has been arguably the best player on defense.

This is a tough game. If they come out victorious I may be a believer. I think they get absolutely abused though. Spread is at 5.5. I think Eagles win by 14 or better.

Yeah I think Fitzpatrick taking on the role he had last year may be the most likely route they take. Which I think does open up the potential for them to try to take shots to Brown (especially after he’s been bitching about the passing game).

We’ll see how that goes. I think we’d all like to see some more splash from him but I think there’s definitely some substance right now to the thought that he does more than what people realize and teams avoid him.

I will say that living in Philly and talking to people this week- the Eagles seem like the most emotionally fragile 11-2 team I've ever seen lol. Some of it is just the microscope of a bigger market but AJ Brown openly criticizing the passing offense, Brandon Graham (who is on IR) going on radio shows and talking about the QB WR relationship, etc... Just feels like a lot of drama around this team. Sirianni is on the hotseat 24/7 and is likely gone with another wild card round exit.

The Lions have Buffalo at the same time and they finish with Minnesota week 18 its not guaranteed the Eagles are the 2nd seed. The bears did have a chance at ot on thanksgiving in Detroit have Detroit home next week.

Typical Philly sports experience. If they didn’t sign Saquon their season would likely look very different right now.

Yeah Sutton has taken over the NB role I would imagine Rowe is called up from ps and we see Minka in the box more

It does open up the potential for Hurts to take shots, but I think that's going to happen regardless of whether Fitzpatrick is patrolling deep or close because you're gonna see a bunch of base package and heavy boxes to deal with Barkley. If Hurts and the Eagles are in a mood to take advantage of that, then I don't think it's going to matter if Fitzpatrick is back there anyway. So might as well hunt the main threat.

We’ll see how that goes. I think we’d all like to see some more splash from him but I think there’s definitely some substance right now to the thought that he does more than what people realize and teams avoid him.

I do believe Fitzpatrick is doing things and has value. I really do. But we've seen some rarely targeted safeties produce big interception numbers this season and I feel like we're going to need the defence to step up and provide more come the big games and getting that splash back will look like an obvious place to look.

Feels like this is the most flawed all the major teams have been for a long time, particularly with Detroit getting hammered by injuries. Could be a big opportunity here.
