It hit him in the shoulder pads because he tried to pin it to his pads instead of using his hands.

It is actually insane to blame the qb over the wr on that play. With a routine catch it was 30 yards at worst and a td at best with CAIII's speed.

Try to tone down the hyperbole. Austin should have caught it but it was a pass that was behind the receiver enough that the defender could have knocked away if he put his hands up. I don't consider that a great pass.
