I’d bet cheapest and most likely is Theilen. We just need another body that can be productive.

I’d probably prefer Slayton and Williams.

Dangerous game to play waiting until the last hour before making a deal. Have most of the good WRs been traded? Inexcusable if they dont find a respectable WR.

the time to win a SB is now since most of our best players are near the ends of their careers (RW, Watt, Minka, Cam)

we need to add some players especially WR

This is the list I came up with last week.

Feels like this is who they have to pick from in the Bargain Bin:

Mike Williams - 2025 UFA - Hasn't done crap this season
Adam Thielen - 2026 UFA, 6.75mil for 2025 (Zero guaranteed money) - Hasn't played in 4 games
KJ Osborn - 2025 UFA - Hasn't done crap this season
Tyler Boyd - 2025 UFA - Hasn't done crap this season
Jakobi Myers - 2026 UFA, 11mil for 2025 (Zero guaranteed money) - Good Production

Cost more than Bargain Bin but not too much:

Darius Slayton - 2025 UFA - Concussed, Giants have stated cost is high
Christian Kirk - 2026 UFA, 16.5mil for 2025 (Zero guaranteed money) - Out for season

So the bargain bin guys are still available and not injured. But it feels like Jacobi Meyers would be the only upgrade over the guys the Steelers already have on the roster.

For the guys that are on bad teams but good players, Like DK Metcalf and Chris Olave. Olave is in concussion protocol, not sure if he can be traded. And while the Seahawks are out of the playoffs, they are only one game behind the division winner in Arizona. They have lost 5 of 6.

It feels like for Metcalf and Olave that they would be offseason trades along the lines of AJ Brown.

I don’t really get Meyers being a bargain bin guy. He’s been a legitimate number 2 type of receiver for pretty much his whole career and is still relatively young. Apparently he’s a good blocker too so that fits for this offense. He’d probably be my preferred choice, followed by Slayton.

I think it’ll end up either Thielen or nothing though.

Honestly at this point I'm expecting nothing to happen. Or maybe at best someone who is fighting for snaps with Scotty Miller as injury insurance. Feels like they've missed the boat because they weren't determined to get on it.

I saw Dulac saying they could trade for help at other positions too. OLB is thin. I just don't know they'd do much better in terms of an impact player there either. And at least a WR with term has a place in Pittsburgh; a talented OLB doesn't really.

Williams, Osborn, and Boyd have all been reasonably productive in the past, but are on new (not very good) teams this year. So you have to answer to yourself if it's a team issue, a fit issue, or if they are just toast now.

I'd take Thielen. Good stats last 4-5 years, cheap. Not so good teams.

Thielen is attractive for his consistency and ability to get open. And I know you don’t need him/expect him to be long term but you do need him short term so you’d need to be comfortable he can be on the field.

Theilen does not move the needle one bit for this team. Slayton would be good. Might even see what Seattle wants for DK.

The bargain bin identifier is from a cost perspective not from a production perspective. Like 4th+ round cost.

One thing to consider is the Justin Fields trade and the Wilson injury has put both the 4th and 6th round picks on the shelf. So a trade would probably mean a 5th or 7th. So that may be limiting the options.

Not sure I would go a 3rd for Meyers. Although, I guess they could have like stipulation like the Adams trade. 5th rounder then if the Steelers make the Super Bowl and Meyers plays 50% of the snaps it is a 3rd.

I think it moves the needle as far as getting more bodies that can get open and contribute.

I don’t see a truly possible scenario where the Steelers get a true dynamic difference maker. I feel like there are maybe 2 available, if at all.

My money is still on Mike Williams. As long as he's cheap enough, they can make a decision on him after they see him here if they want to keep him or if they want to use a high pick on a WR. Could bounce back in a new offense.

I'd be stoked with Slayton (for this year), too, but expect he'd be more expensive in terms of the pick to get him. For a potential rental, I don't love that idea.

My money is they don't do anything :)

Williams does nothing. Cue ball Khan played this horribly. Ron Hextall 2.0

I don’t wanna bitch and moan too much because at the end of the day it is just a fifth and they had to do something. But a fifth for half a year of Mike Williams with the numbers he has is not great. Although he does fit the moon ball offense they’re leaning into.
