THE OTTAWA SENATORS ARE GOING TO THE STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS!

Not going to rank, but I would put Zub way higher on the list than you might think. We picked up a #2 RD who is a perfect fit for our #1D for free. Now we just need to do that a couple of times with forwards to replace G and Perron in a couple years.

Zub and Jensen have both been critical in terms of powering up our talented LD.

When Zub was out, Sanderson was a mess (guess who his partner was?).

And Chabot hasn't really been the guy we used to watch since, who, DeMelo? Jensen is a +19 for a reason (1st on the team).

Rank the 10 players who made the biggest impact on getting this team back into the playoffs.
I’d go with:
Ullmark
Sanderson
Tkachuk
Stutzle
Jensen
Chabot
Pinto
Merilainen
Batherson
Zub

EDIT: I put Leevi in for Anton. Those wins of his were critical at the time.

Honorary mention to Norris even though he’s no longer on the team - he was a good soldier when healthy.

Edit: Damn I forgot Batherson.

After that it's pretty much a combination of all the other guys in varying order at different times. Might even consider Norris as well, he was very good as well. I don't rank Tkachuk so high because even though he's a big factor, he had some stretches of being ineffective and they've been doing fine without him. Still a great leader and captain and irreplaceable, but there's a lot of reasons why this team is better

I think Greig and Chabot could be our wildcards, with Sanderson/Ullmark/Tkachuck as the most influential of the group.

Greig had that spice that is extra important in the playoffs, a meaner Pageau.
Chabot has that extra gear that we've only seen when he was in the World Juniors, will be exciting if he still has it.

It's possible Brady would be back this weekend if the games still mattered and he's getting that extra rest. Which is great either way, he needs to be healthy for his very first series

I want Brady fresh and chomping at the bit for Game 1. Let him rest as long as he needs.

How effective as Stutzle been for the last little while? He has 1 G 7 A in the last 17 games. Only 21 SOG in that time period too.

Sure, but he did pretty well in the other 61 games, I think it's pretty fair to say he was important to us making the playoffs. He could had zero points in the last 17 and he'd still be the team's leading point producer.

Right but the argument I was responding to was that Brady shouldn't be ranked a top contributor because he had periods of ineffectiveness and team has been doing fine without him. The same argument could be made for Stutzle, and at arguably the most important time of the year.

For all his warts and how much we'd like him to be 2022-2023 Stu, he's still twice the defensive player this than he has ever been.

Still, shoot the f***ing puck.
