THE OTTAWA SENATORS ARE GOING TO THE STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS!

They just won 3 in a row and allowed 1 goal during that span against two elite teams and a team fighting for its life. I cant tell if this is serious? Can they play better, sure not sure what people are expecting. This is a bubble team that is finding its way.
We looked really bad against Tampa and Florida and last night.

This team is not playing well at all right now. Ullmark and Forsberg got us our last few wins.

Sometimes your goalie bails you out, that's fine, I'm happy we have goalies who can do it. But if you think this team is paying well right now, we aren't seeing the same thing at all.

FYI
After Habs @ Sens:

Habs play:
- Leafs
- Hawks
- Canes

Sens play:
- Flyers
- Hawks
- Canes

And Habs play Leafs the day after the Sens.
And the Sens play the Flyers and the Hawks the day after they play the Habs.

Six weeks ago, I was walking through a department store, and a young boy approached me. He asked if I like the Ottawa Senators. I told him I did. We both agreed they would make the playoffs. I think he might have told me that they would win the cup this year.

I didn't realize it at the time, but I am thinking that young boy may have been some sort of ghost.
Was the boys name Shrooms by any chance?

No they didnt they had a lead on two of the top 5 teams in the league and both those teams pushed. thats the reality there was a score effect and the team won. Thats what good teams do. There is context. They were fine last night, their guys scored the sens guys didnt. Id prefer a tighter game but Columbus is really good at home and Ottawa just shut them out two days ago. Very hard to beat a team two games in a row let alone 3 in a 10 day span.

Again they can play better but saying they are terrible or playing poorly is ridiculous.

Is there any information on when the playoffs would start? What days? I thought I saw tubby Garrioch post something

Can we LTIR players. The playoffs are in 11 days. lTIR requires 10 days
To qualify for LTIR, a player must be expected to miss at least 10 NHL Games AND 24 days

What I'm not sure about is whether or not that extends to the post season, like, if you missed 9 reg season games and 24 days, would you be forced to miss one Playoff game before you return? Since there's no cap in the playoffs, I don't know how they'd handle it.

I have a feeling there won't be much left for the general public.

They are pushing pretty hard that if you want tickets you have to sign up for an SSM package.

Keep in mind, that's a commitment to buy tickets to every playoff game (minimum 5k for a pair, unless they are giving people the renewal deal that was $3400).

You probably don't pay the entire 5k since that assumes 16 playoff games.

Half season package at 1500 or whatever it is for a pair, and then 5k for a pair of playoff tickets is still going to be a better deal than box office prices.

I know by your posts that you're an out of town fan so it might not help you, but if I was a local fan who wanted tickets for the entire run, I would just bite the bullet and get season tickets for access. You can always sell off whatever you don't use of the season tickets next season when they are released and it probably ends up being pretty cheap.

I don't think they completely sell out before the general public sale, but if we face the Leafs it becomes your typical Ticketmaster lottery where a small portion get them and most don't.

Tampa and Florida make up for the two Sabres game where we played well and still lost. We played an excellent home game against CBJ and yeah did have a dud road game against them, but while we haven't played well lately, I don't think we've played bad lately either. I'd argue we've played better than Montreal lately. Montreal got severely outplayed by Nashville and early on by the Red Wings and still won.

Refusing to play defence is not toiling in the trenches. If anything this is the first year they’ve actually experienced hard hockey.

The last 3-4 years have been vacation mode for these kids

Come on man, 500 games for each Chabot and Brady. They are good players, we weren't not making the playoffs because of them.

Ah I got the games and days mixed

Gawd darn! There is a joke in this statement somewhere. Burrow, emo, injury, him resting. Help me out folks. We need our Bsaurus at his best for the playoffs.
I will be ungovernable.

If lose a short series I’ll have trade proposals for stutzle ready

No. But they were both taking a lot of nights off defensively. The entire crew was part of the problem. Not THE problems. But part of it

I made a mistake - should be Hawks and Canes the day after they play the Habs.

The BJs also sat back in the third and as a result the Sens had a better xGF% than them, but no one can argue that the Sens played better. So why are people still arguing the Sens played awful against the Florida teams? The Sens got outplayed by the Florida teams for sure, but they weren't dominated.
