THE OTTAWA SENATORS ARE GOING TO THE STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS!

Six weeks ago, I was walking through a department store, and a young boy approached me. He asked if I like the Ottawa Senators. I told him I did. We both agreed they would make the playoffs. I think he might have told me that they would win the cup this year.

I didn't realize it at the time, but I am thinking that young boy may have been some sort of ghost.

They clinched because they have 90 points. Had the longest road trip in the league. Starting goalie has been in and out of the lineup. Captain has been hurt, key players all season. Great year so far!

The only result that will leave me miserable about this season would be losing to Toronto. If we put up a fight and lose to Tampa, Florida, or Washintgtin, it’ll suck but I’ll be fine. Going 0-5 all time against Toronto is something I want to avoid.

It’s been a great year for sure, and happy with the overall result. Since xmas I thought wildcard was a realistic goal and we did it. Just not as stoked as others to lose big while Habs continue their win streak. Haven’t played well enough lately, so a win vs Habs with guys like Stu playing their best is huge for confidence.

I'm fine playing Toronto, but lets get a bit of momentum first.

That young boy ended up being Matthew Highmore

Would it suck to lose to Toronto? Yup.

But we have a young team, and probably more likely to lose than win this year anyways.

Who gives us the best shot to win against? IMO, definitely Toronto. We tend to play them well, they’re a soft team, their stats fade as the series goes on, and they have a ton of pressure which they don’t seem to handle well.

I don’t think there’s many outcomes we beat Tampa. Kucherov owns us, they’re a really well built team and a really good coached team. I think Washington would be a good matchup for us, but not as good as Toronto.

Think Jensen gets a nice rest until playoffs here. Thoughts?

Hopefully Brady gets a game or 2 in here and he is good to go.

I honestly think the guys really want to heat the Habs on Friday for multiple reasons. If we win that we’re pretty much stuck in our spot and might as well rest.

It would be to our benefit if the Atlantic title race goes to Game 82.

Don't think Staios would approach it that way given his track record.
 
The players as a group have a massive chip on their shoulder, they are looking outward for blood, I get the sense Green is winding them up right for the playoffs and he had them brewing with all sorts of underdog emptions

I’m suoer impressed with their mentality right now - HUNGRY is how I’d describe them all and CONIFIDENT
