Man I registered to buy tickets to the 2026 Olympics. What an insane process.

So many hoops and hurdles. So overly complicated

Season 1 was amazing, Season 2 is losing me
season 2 is still good and in some ways better but i think i prefer the simplicity of season 1 with the office antics more. also spoilers but is it just me or is that black lady who is helping mark reintegrate, seeming like a lumon spy? and its all part of the plan? he stops the procedure and goes out to clear his mind and next thing you know helene happens to be at the restraunt and pisses him off enough to continue the procedure.

At this point everyone but Mark might be part of Lumon lol

Ads on the mobile version lately have been horrendous. For some reason they load or shift size at weird intervals and it forces you all up and down the page, can barely read more than a sentence or two at once.

I just found out Michelle Trachtenberg died like 2 days ago...

That's a shot right into the childhood. I vividly remember my mum not letting me watch Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

I wasn't into the vampires....

In all seriousness a tragic loss.

Lighter note...you older folks will remember this covered by Davud Bowie and Mick Ronson on the stunning and dare I say, iconic Ziggy Stardust album. But this in its simplest form to me is perfection without pageantry. I only know of one guitarist maybe that can play it exactly this way...

Its a really interesting thought experiment even if you dont take all his thesis to heart.

Glad you liked it!

My aunt and her boyfriend are big readers. Was house sitting for them and damn near finished “xxx dream of electric sheep?” Which the 80s flick (and classic) Blade Runner is based off of.

What are you raised on? My childhood imagination was basically funded by Ray Bradbury and Harper Lee.

One of my favourite movies ever.

I have no idea why I have not read Philip K. Dick.

Tolkien, Douglas Adams... Robbin Hobb. A ton of fantasy and scifi.

Bunch of finnish stuff too that you likely wouldnt know.

Adams might be a genius for all I know.

I mostly stay away from Philip K because his premises are just too depressing fans bleak for me. It’s like Black Mirror, I can only take one a day. More than that would f*** me up.

Made a LOTR reference 4 - 5 months ago, someone mentioned the Wheel of Time series. Great now I am on book 6 (Lord of Chaos) out of 14. This is going to take a while…

I've had this weird transition over the last 5 years (post-COVID or so) where I went from reading 'smart' books most of my adult life (Booker Prize stuff, great historical novels, etc.) back to just reading mostly the sort of light mystery novel I liked back when I was a teenager. Part of it is probably just not wanting to read depressing shit in depressing times and part of it is that when you have kids it's easier to find time to read an easy, readable book than a giant, complicated tome.

Per the discussion here, my all-time favourite book is Under the Volcano by Malcom Lowry and it isn't particularly close to #2.

Makes sense. The first novel I read was Harry Potter when I was 6. I still revere that franchise despite the author turning out to be a massive see you next Tuesday.
