Life happens for a lot of folks. And I think the Benning Era killed the passion of a lot of folks. This board was not...fun...to be around at that time.

Benning was making bad decisions on and off the ice, also that’s where his family members were causing issues around the city.

Don’t wanna drag his fam into this but it was bad at the time.

I don't believe AVG was ever a mod.

Nuckles, PG Canuck, Zombotron, WTG, Bleach Clean, Hit the Post, Bourne Endeavor, and Chairman Maouth are all still around. They served a few tours of duty.

As for ones who were that aren't around any longer, man. Timmy, mrmyheadhurts, thepuckmonster, Taelin, 19nazzy, Tryamkin, Ronning on Empty, Tiranis, LaVal...there's a bunch.

EDIT: This is in addition to the aforementioned Stig. :p:

Ronning on Empty got Bleached Cleaned...

Username changes always mess me up too. For example, Quinning. I know I’ve been reading their posts for a decade+ now, but I click his/her profile to check old usernames, and it gives me an error message saying I don’t have permission to view previous names. I don’t know if it’s a user choice setting or the forum, but it’s been bugging me, how am I gonna figure out who this person was.

speaking of killing,,,,,,

So the guy who was just arrested for assassinated the United Health CEO in NYC last week was apparently a Canucks fan. Not that being a Canucks fan drove him to murder....just a coincidence.
Probably a Luongo fan and went wrong as a child when Brodeur won the Vezina!

He also interned at Firaxis and fixed a bunch of bugs in Civilization VI.

Thats incredible. What have you been doing for the last 25-40 years other than watching amazing cinema

List of movies my dad raised me on or were otherwise mainstays in my youth: Young Frankenstein, Spaceballs, Caddyshack, Happy Gilmore, Grinch (2000), Sandlot, Star Wars, Back to the Future, Buckaroo Banzai, Planet of the Apes, Jurassic Park.

When you watch the same movie 100 times each, you limit yourself greatly. That and we weren’t really an action movie household. Dunno what to tell ya.

Nice. Im quite a cinephile but still havent gotten around to watching Buckaroo Banzai. Ill watch Matrix about every 6 months. I collect movies on bluray and mainly 4k bluray since it will likely be the last physical media format. Gotta put the home theatre to use

Blazing Saddles as well. Really heavy on the Mel Brooks. Steve Martin, Eddie Murphy, and Bill Cosby RIP were huge mainstays. My parents still have a VCR for christ's sake. I actually got to say I watched the entirety (almost) of the 2011 playoffs on this antiquated projector. It seriously was the RGB tri-light Star Trek lookin' mothers. Dad: "Who the f*** needs HD or whatever on who gives a f*** many inches when you can watch TV on a f***ing wall?" paraphrased, but the cursing was real.

Reading all those names was a blast from the past - lots of people who'll likely never know how much they influenced the way I think about hockey.

The Benning era, along with how so many people turned against us during the cup run after supporting every other Canadian team, soured a lot of people on the game (myself included).

Never had a relevant Canuck team in my 20s - I can only imagine how tough it was for people who were older and were having deja vu from post 1994. I get jealous of my youngest brother who's still in his 20s and gets to enjoy the current team while he's still young enough to want to go party after the game.

Took me forever and a day but I finally finished this tonight and I'm so excited! :D

BG3 Honor Mode, and technically my first full playthrough

BG3 is incredible (especially the first two acts) - that's huge. I'm excited for the final patch to come out and play the new classes.
