OT: The OT Thread | Post Apocalyptic Edition

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Man, imagine being this daft to purposefully not understand a movie's allegorical message simply because it's uncomfortable for you.

I'm glad we live in a reality where this poor soul has zero influence or sway. /s

f***ing movie got skewered because it had a TITANIC budget and was....OK, for having done so. Giancarlo did Giancarlo things, Stanley Tucci's incredible as always in the villain role. The younger actors were alright, the writing was...OK. But the concept is fantastic. Did not expect to be won over by Woody Harrelson as Mr. Peanut so fast.

To give you an insight from where I come from......lol.....

My dad got into watching Resident Alien and is convinced that the sheriff is Cleavon Little from Blazing Saddles. I just don't have the heart to tell him Cleavon died in f***ing 1992.

Also his mum claimed to have danced with Sammy Davis Jr. at the Penthouse. At this point I'm only convinced she danced with the only black dude there. LMAO.

Am i the only one who thought Rachel Zegler is pretty cute? Definitely not overly beautiful, but i dont think she is as ugly as everyone claims she is either.

Would i have cast her as snow white? No, but thats another topic.

She's cute. And I didn't even realize she was half-Latino until people started pissing on her with seriously racist comments.

Are actors going to have to go through DNA tests to ensure they're white enough to lead in classics so that a certain crowd doesn't get pissy? Like, for f***s sake.

There are better things to be concerned about IMO.

It's not racism. The character is Snow White, the name of which is a direct reference to her snow white skin lol. That and she's kind of a brat. People just don't like her and don't like the casting, that's all.

My family and I watched the movie. While I wouldn't call it great, it wasn't terrible (and certainly not as astoundingly awful as I saw people online calling it). I am definitely shocked it cost so much money.

Bought a PS5 today.

Also downloaded Part 1 and upgraded Part 2 Remastered.

I am ready to be destroyed again... 💔 🥺 😢

I'll always keep a console just to kill evenings where i don't feel like being productive tbh. I'll cycle through fifa or nhl, and then whatever assassins creed or RDR type games that are out at the time.

Overall it wasn’t bad, but looking at the budget and the finished product…as a business person I wouldn’t have greenlit that…

I find that a lot people who do these reviews as the video market is over saturated, mostly have pre-existing expectations that colour their critique. Same kind of people who are shocked to find that actors can act…guess that’s the world we live in where JLaw, Pratt, the Rock essentially have made hundreds of millions playing the same exact character one blockbuster to the next.
