Have you ever exprienced the Pittsburgh Left
I had to Google it. That is an interesting rule.

We had something similar in NZ But it was when both vehicles were turning. The one crossing traffic had the right of way.

It actually used to be amazing as the one turning across traffic often couldn't turn as the straight oncoming cars made it impossible. But if you could see some indicate then you knew you could go in ahead of them. It got scrapped because too many tourists caused accidents. Pity, cause it was better.

The bottom one was dumb and needed fixing. It was only on unmarked intersections and if it was signposted, then the side street would be a Yield/Give Way

The biggest issues I've had in Pittsburgh is spotty cell service causing GPS havoc in the hills around the burbs impacting parents getting their kids to a hockey tournament rink on time.

Other than that, it was similar to Rochester for me.

:dunno:

As a matter of northern pride, I do wear shorts to our bar trivia on Monday nights. It's been in the 40's a couple of times and I'm getting sideways looks. :biglaugh:
When my first wife and I took our belated honeymoon to New Orleans in February, I definitely stuck out as not from there given my shorts when the natives were in parkas because it was in the 40s and 50s.

Update:

I Googled it and I have had people do that on occasion in Rochester. I never knew it had a name beyond being an impatient a-hole.

Had an interview this morning. I referred to the job in the past on here as a "slam dunk." And honestly, it went really, really well. I got on well with the 3 people in the interview, had some casual chit chat at the end. And then they told me the rough salary. Sigh. Over a 30k pay cut.

So I was feeling frustrated. Threw on THIS SONG and cranked the volume. Stopped for gas. Saw I had an email from the interview I had last week asking me to come in for an in-person second interview next week. It would be an hour commute each way, which sounds atrocious, but I really like the environment. No word on salary yet, though. At the very least, stacking some practice interviews is good to keep that muscle in shape.

The second interview was today. Went really well and I loved the environment. The hour drive each way and the still unknown pay scale are the biggest hurdles. Super mellow but productive team. The first person I encountered I thought was a student. Jeans, hoodie, pink headphones. She said, "Oh, you're here for an interview? Good luck! I am a security analyst. This is a great place to work!"

Meanwhile I'm thinking, "you're a security analyst? You look like a 20 year old I would have been too scared to talk to in the college library when I was that age."

We've had two snows this year which have stuck and lingered. First time for two or more such lingering snow events in a winter since probably 2017 or 2018. The January ~21st snow here ~6" +/- 2" depending on locale lingered thru the weekend on the shaded north side of tree thickets and buildings.

Didn't know if I posted this but after a ton of calls to both GPD, ACS, animal control and the Humane Society, this happened locally -

Clearly the authorities have had enough - putting a million dollar bond on the guy. Hope they roll up his associates both local and further afield too.

Haha.. same amount of bond i believe for the gang of Correction Officers that beat and killed Robert Brooks. NY is so pathetic
