OT: The OT Thread: At least it's not cold out (Warning in post 368)

I have had some emails this morning about how me taking the stance I took and leaving our old church will likely cause delays in the ordination path for me (in our denomination, the local church you are a member of ordains you).

I told my mentor that I will not stay at my old church and compromise my morals to expedite this process.

Here is his reply to that: And I really appreciate your view on your morals versus a process. Says a lot about the man you are.

Hmm....is he giving you props or being passive aggressive? Seems like that could be read a few ways haha

In Petty Betty news, my wife send me a screenshot of a FB post by the lady at the center of the nepotism drama at our now former church.

She posted about EZPass over billing them by $100 in the past week.

I checked our account and there are no charges since I took Nate back to school last month.

I think Karma Police by Radiohead might be my new go to karaoke song.

:sarcasm:

Sounds like she's falling for a scam tbh. Very common one.

I say this as someone who has know you nearly thirty years in cyberspace and real life, you are the best possible person I can think for that job. It gives me hope for the future of the devote honestly.

For someone who is devoutly atheist, has been to maybe services ever and doesnt know these things... ordination is becoming a priest (or whatever your denomination's equivalent is)?

We’re in the midst of a heatwave here, and it’s absolutely brutal outside between the heat, humidity, the air being full of pollen, and the wildfire smoke.
I'm surprised how quickly my body accepted the heat. When exiting the house yesterday evening it was a wave of uncomfortableness and I couldn't wait to feel the a/c in my vehicle. Today it felt like a hot and humid summer day. A three day stretch is manageable. If a spark plug arrives then hopefully I will be rototilling a lawn tomorrow and Wednesday I am scheduled to help a friend with a landscaping project for a few hours. Heatwave be damned, I have shit to do, lol.

I can't comment on pollen and wildfire smoke although as a general comment I used to not be impacted by allergies but for the past couple years it's around June that after a short time outside I begin sneezing, especially when cutting the grass if there's a bit of a breeze.

As a shepherd, you must not tolerate prosopolepsia. Stand firm.

After spending almost a decade in the Middle East, my body’s heat meter is all messed up. Not impervious to the heat, but with a lot of water and sufficiently tacticool shades, I can be outside in the heat for a really long time.

But my Buffalo cold endurance is shot. I’ve got none now.

Same here. Been in the south so long that I cannot deal with the cold. My Buffalo antifreeze pooped out somewhere around 1993.
Gotta hydrate in this stuff. You could die if you don’t (as you well know).

Spending time in SW Florida with my father doing his post-op work and I melted the nose pieces of my sunglasses today. They turned to some sort of tar due to the heat.

I used to live here. I can't stand it.
As a Florida Man you should be rocking the Pit Vipers

Heat doesn’t really bother me (to a certain degree). It’s when the air is humid and I can’t cool down it becomes a problem. I end up vomiting if I get too warm. Add in wildfire smoke, which makes the pollen hang in the air because now there’s something to attach to that’s already attached to the humidity, and it makes me not a happy camper.
