OT: The OT Thread: At least it's not cold out (Warning in post 368)

Also, sorry to spam the thread, but something interesting I found out from some women at work. Apparently, there's a FB page dedicated for women to seek out whether a man they're dating is dating other women. A young, gen z nurse showed me the page, and then scrolled through hundreds of pictures of men with anonymous comments below saying whether or not they're dating other women or cheating on their partner.

Of course, she then showed me a couple of pictures of two guys that work on our unit. The information I found out about them was...not great. One new, attractive nurse on our unit allegedly cheated on his wife and his current GF with a bunch of nurses. Another female nurse chimed in later and told me it's pretty much common knowledge on the unit he sleeps around and was a reason he left his old unit.

The other male nurse is playing a female nurse on our unit. People have known for a while. He'll take her out on dates, and lead her on, but then, a nurse knew someone who lived in his apt complex who saw him bringing other girls home.

The crazy thing about all of this- 45k women have joined the FB page that is dedicated solely to men in Rochester. Asking around the unit, and pretty much every woman I've asked has said they either heard of it or have joined it.

Women are sneaky, man. They're crazy with their investigating skills. I told them the page seems like an invasion of privacy and it's impossible to separate rumor from fact, but they're hell-a-bent on catching cheaters, and tbf- the evidence is pretty substantial that the two guys on our unit are doing dirt on the low. Nurses seem to have connections everywhere, so if you're a man on our unit doing dirt- they WILL find out.

Men should do same thing!

Ingenious...

Women are sneaky, man.

Nah - too many men are lying scum.

They're crazy with their investigating skills.

Can confirm. Got background checked by my current GF before we ever went out on a date. She is great at social engineering people who her kids are dating. I have nothing to hide so it wasn't a big deal.

It's a response to behaviors where men are acting like shit. *shrug* Don't do that and there is nothing to worry about. It's not really any different than word of mouth in the era before social media, just the number of folks involved is a lot higher.

Trying to sniff out infidelity among nurses/doctors isn't really hard. Cheating is rampant at hospitals.

How nurses act towards residents doctors (i.e. doctors out of training who are relatively young and often unmarried or engage) is absolutely unhinged. They know the doctors are about to be financially stable for life and they are on the hunt.

There is something about the crazy shifts doctors/nurses work and trauma bonding that happens too. I think in my wife's surgery residency 5 years, we saw 3 broken off engagements and two divorces among the residents (one divorce and broken engagement were two of the residents sleeping together and leaving their significant others) One doctor got a divorce after residency (his wife was cheating on him while he worked long hours) and he promptly got two different nurses pregnant within a year. And this guy was the furthest thing from a "player" you've every met. My wife thought he had aspergers with how terrible his communication skills were.

All that aside, these kind of things exists out there. Plenty of sites that flag bad actors on dating sites too. It IS unverified info, so I'm sure its been used for nefarious purposes in the past.

Elbow tendonitis is one of those things that does not get better with rest. As soon as you engage in the activities that trigger it, it will return. Yes, I am not a doctor, but I do play one on the internet!

Oddly in my experience (just battled through a case of "golfers elbow" or medial epicondylitis vs tennis or lateral epicondylitis) the remedy was to increase the inflammation in the elbow by doing 15 sets of single chin ups, and slowly increasing the sets and reps to twice a week over a three week period (ending with 25 sets of 2-3 chin ups). Yes, the pain was excruciating after the first session but I can say that by the end of the third week the inflammation had decreased considerably and today a month and a half later the tendonitis is all but gone.

I would not give up Ju Jitsu if it was me.
Thanks. The elbow was no worse after jiu jitsu so that backs that up. I do play golf too so it will be interesting to see how it handles that the next time I play.

Man nurses like to gossip. I know a few, and I know way too many things about their coworkers who I’ve never met. Like why are you telling me these things?

Going to try the second to last Mission Impossible and then Gladiator 2 today. I’ve got a 4 day weekend and the family went to her parents for the weekend. Me and the dog being lazy for the first time in years.
I couldnt get even a quarter of the way through G2. Which sucks, because the original Gladiator is one of my favorites.

'Are you not entertained?!'

The kids are back from their trip and have decided we will have a family movie night on Thursdays. I'm curious what their first choice is going to be.

It always amazes me how people can say things so confidently with their whole damn chest and be so very wrong at the same time.

The fake it till you make it culture has really exploded over everything.

Instead of shaming people for lying we commend them for the "hustle"

The departure of any sort of honesty in the name of making a dollar

Public officials (of all political leanings) will just lie with no consequence.

That has been the biggest cultural shift over the last 20 years, at least in the US. The acceptance and even promotion of dishonesty in the culture. And its just eroded a ton of society.

It goes all the way down to an individual level .. that has to be fixed before anything else above it can be addressed.

I loved this mask at the HHoF.
