This has to to be one of the worst defensive teams I've ever seen. 7 goals against the Rangers, 8 against the Kraken and now 6 against Washington? This is an absolute embarrassment. This team is nothing other than the odd beautiful Lane Hutson puck rush.

I was talking if the bring up Beck
Not yet. Please.

Habs should have tried to beef up their bottom six during the Summer. There was some interesting, affordable UFA to fill holes on the 4th.

Anyway, the loss of Laine + the return of Dach in non-game shape, just wreck the much needed second line contribution.

And do what with Dvorak, Anderson, Gallagher, Armia, Evans, Pezzetta - none of whom should ever be near a scoring line.

If I could make a comparison. Right now our d looks like :
Emelin (Guhle) - petry (matheson)
Gill (Savard) - Subban rookie (Hutson)
Paul mara - yannick weber (xhekaj, varron, struble and cie)

I mean. How can we expect win something on a regular basis?
back in the days , The moment Petry was eating too much minutes (on markov or weber injury. The team was atrocious. Thats what happen today

I don't mind the losses if we were in the games, but I'd like to let these kids lose together and stop singling out the same guy every time. I'd rather lose going down swinging like Andy did tonight, than like the rest of the p***yes on this team. Get Jackeye back in here

Good point
Losing will come in a rebuild for sure but getting blown out with no effort and stupid coaching that's no fun

I want Heineman and his hard shot to have some PP time. I want Armia, Dvorak and Newhook to NOT have any. Those 3 guys are PK guys. Newhook does not have the hockey IQ to be a top 6 player.

Not sure if people remember but him going along the board....with NO IDEA THAT Dach was all alone in the middle to give him a brekaway was just self explanatory.

We got screwed on Dvorak. We got screwed on Newhook too.

Man... I wish. But only for the fact we'll have Demidov playing over here next season we won't be in that discussion.
There are 2 top line centers in the next draft, Hagens and Misa, I would be pretty happy with either... I think Hagens could have a similar impact to Jack Hughes and Misa reminds me alot of a young Jonathan Toews, fantastic skater, good size ect. We end up bottom 4 and we are pretty much guarentee to get one, at worst if you miss on the centers, Martone would be a great pick as well and the top 2 defenemen have top pairing upside IMO.

The team is underperforming, but we are still in the middle of the rebuild and the 2nd or 3rd youngest team in the league. I would be patient with MSL personally, too many washed up vets that dont give a shit that we will start to get rid near the deadline...

Pls .. stop. Has MSL “wrecked” Hutson? Which young player has MSL “wrecked” exactly?

Xhekaj is a low hockey IQ player
He’s not a low IQ player at all, you don’t make it as an undrafted player in juniors AND the NHL if you’re a dumbass.

Xhekaj was developing fine until MSL started the Therrien/Subban treatment and tried to make him a better person. You can’t make a lion into a lamb, but MSL seems determined to try.

And as far as that goes - why isn’t MSL using Hutson on the number one unit? He’s playing him in the lineup but he’s not playing him to his biggest strengths, which seems to be a common theme with St Louis. Hutson is succeeding because he’s an elite talent, but he could be even further ahead if MSL used him more effectively.

And if MSL benched Hutson for every defensive miscue like he’s done to Xhekaj, he’d be watching from the press box as well.

One point I will make is that (in my opinion) It’s pretty obvious at this point that MSL likes a small bunch of finesse players. We rarely see Pezzetta or Xhekaj in the lineup. Not sure if it’s subconsciously reflective of his own style or if he’s willingly making the choice, but he loves the smaller guys. He doesn’t like hard nosed hockey, which is kind of strange but it’s what I see.

The worst part was why the hell was Armia there and not Slafkovsky?!
Because Slaf sucked hard all game, one of his worst games for a while, thats why St-Louis didnt send him on that PP, wanted to send him a message...

Slaf needs to be much better, very slow start and some poor decisions making, he needs to wake up and show his skills, stop over thinking or being too casual on the ice and impact the game like you can!. Kid should watch Leo Carlsson who looks great right now for Anaheim...

Sounds like it's only kids that need to be much better and getting messages sent to them.

Nope, I think that was a double message sent to Dvo and Armia too. You have been crap since the begin of the season, here is a 5 on 3 to do something before you get sent to the pressbox...

Dvo will likely eat popcorn next game and Armia 4th line minutes...

Yup, well said he is NOT a low IQ player at all. Marty is getting some production out of the skilled guys, ok great.. I could probably coach the Oilers and McJesus still gets 85 pts. I think its more of how the 'less skilled' and 'role players' are developing when I judge a coach. So many are regressing, that is not a good sign. Cole will get his 30, Nick 70 pts , maybe Slaf gets 50.. but the rest are left to rot.

Odd times. I'm happy to finish last if we are progressing and get a franchise C this year, but I don't know if I trust MSL one ounce to develop these kids.
