Who wins?

Edmonton didn't have Ekholm in 2022 when we beat them.
This Kings team is deeper, more experienced, Byfield is a star now and they have the best home record in hockey. Oilers have regressed and Kings have progressed since last year. Lets see where the chips fall

Its not going to be easy but I don't see the fear that people have with LA. If healthy I think we are a better team than last year's playoff team. Even minus Ekholm.

If i remember right Foegele got scratched in the playoffs (or maybe year before).
Nurse was bad.
Vinny was tough but bad.
Holloway didn't get going until later.
Broberg was scratched.

Kuemper is the big add for LA.
If we can hit Kuzmenko and Fiala I don't see those 2 being much of a factor.
Foegele is like PLD. So essentially they have the same team in my opinion.
They are great at home because they can play their boring style. On the road they are not that great.
Their powerplay sucks.

Might have missed some below:

OUT
Mattias Ekholm
Cody Ceci
Vincent Desharnais
Warren Foegele
Dylan Holloway
Ryan McLeod
Broberg

IN
Podkolzin
Arvidsson
Frederic
Skinner
Emberson
Klingberg
Walman
Jones
Kapanen

OUT
Pierre-Luc Dubois
Carl Grundstrom

IN
Warren Foegele
Andrei Kuzmenko
Darcy Kuemper

lol Byfield ain’t no star yet
This is the best Kings team we seen yet but the Oilers are confident against this team

lol the guy who has 54 pts is a star. I remember when Sam Gagner was a star.
Bro, you lose your credibility when you start comparing A soft perimeter midgets influence on the game vs. 6'4 blazing fast, strong CM who is finally realizing his potential. I like Gagner, but lets be pragmatic here man.

Byfield playing in a nothing game. I guess he was really hurt by Nurse. Eat shit Kings.

So hurt he’s leading all Kings forwards in ice time so far. It’s not enough they’ll have the refs, they wanted the DoPS to help them win too? Hope Kane and Frederic both dress in Game 1 and teach them that if you come at the real Kings of the West, you best not miss.

Meh, we'll see I guess. Doesn't possess a lot of skill but he is fast and big. Kempe and Fiala are more dangerous offensive threats than Byfield imo.

The Kings are like the Toronto Raptors going up against the Lebron James Cleveland Cavaliers. The Raptors would play them well during the regular season then it was Lebronto during the playoffs.

Literally put up less points than last year bud but its not like you had any credibility to start with.

Watch the goal from like last week where he uses 1 hand to dominate the defender in front of the net, and the other hand, 1 handed, to tip the puck over from one side of the goalie to the other before finishing it 1 handed. This guy is closer to Draisaitl than Gagner. Luckily, nobody is Draisaitl but Draisaitl.. but lets not underestimate

I’m watching that Amazon show, the episode where we’re in the finals. I couldn’t stomach watching this before, but man it makes me wish we can get back there this year.

One team at a time, if they beat LA the belief will be strong. Mcdavid is looking fresh, if Draisaitl is good to go LA is going to get rocked. My concern is goaltending, but I’m hoping Skinner is also feeling refreshed and ready to go on a roll, just have a good month Stu.

The Kings couldn't beat the AHL Flames tonight. Just saying. Not sure what it means but man when the Kings are bad they're real bad.

The thing is Sam Gagner was diminutive but had the heart of a Lion. Byfield has every physical gift possible and plays like a lightweight.

When drafted the hope was Byfield would be a power forward. He seems to lack the bravery to be that. He is sometimes until he gets clocked and then he disappears again. The one thing you never know at draft is how much a player will persevere to be what they can be. Byfield seems lacking in that.

The Sam Gagner comparison may actually be flattering Byfield at this point. By same age Sam had 77G and 220pts. Byfield has a meager 51G and only 142pts. Byfield gets more minutes, more PP time etc.

Now that said Powerforwards can often take longer to arrive at their game, if they are, but the jury is out on whether Byfield is prepared to do everything possible to be that.

Selling Gagner short again. Shocker.
As for the rest of your post, you should be writing for the Byfield’s PR team. I’ve been hearing about how great Byfield is going to be for three years now. I’m expecting him to be better than he was last year, but that’s not really a high bar, is it? The man has one playoff goal. One. I get the impression he doesn’t like to get hit. I’m sure the Oilers are aware of that and I expect him to have a rough ride starting with his first shift.

I respect Byfield as potentially dangerous but until he steps up and performs when it matters there are other players on that roster to be more worried about.

It’s honestly the weirdest shit ever. Anyone who knows anything about Louie knows he bleeds copper and blue and they act like he’s judas-machiavelli-quisling.

Did YOU knock a motherf***er out in a Vancouver bar because they were talking shit on the Oilers? Then maybe STFU.
He's dumb as a hammer. Punchdrunk probably. His takes on so many things are out there. A commentator should add clarity, add depth, give the viewer additional knowledge. Debrusk just captures the bare ethos of being a player, being a terrible one really, and half the shtick on broadcast is tie ins on how awful he was as a player. Its most of the jokes. Seems like he's a nice man, probably a decent dad, he doesn't add a thing in terms of the broadcast. Its sad. He's like Hrudey to me. Not in a good way.

I’ll just leave this in here:

The odds may be against us due to injuries (particularly losing Ekholm who was a stud last season) but the boys will be hungry, no doubt. We might even see a new level from McDrai in these playoffs (if that is even humanly possible).

Also as an aside, Holloway and Broberg must have been taking dumps in the washroom during that Hyman speech where he said “I hope everyone comes back.”

I am not so sure this Kings team is really all that different than last year. Byfield for example had almost the exact same stats both years. They lost Dubois, Arvidsson, Matt Roy and Talbot while adding Kuemper, Edmundson and Foegele. Clarke is a year older, but so are Kopitar, Danault and Doughty.

In the end this Kings team had 6 more points this year than last but basically the same goal differential. And all of their gains were driven by an incredible improvement in their home record and the fact that they went almost injury free the whole year. Typically those sorts of things don't carry over to the playoffs.
