But thanks for having the discussion, which is an actual discussion. Not like some other posters.

At a different time I might be saying too that only playoffs matter. But then I'm factoring in all the fatigue on Drai/McD because they've had to carry the offense all friggen season while the cast that show up just when they feel like it are dragging their game to a level it should've been at all the while. These being vets, not young players still figuring out their NHL game.

In a way I think these injuries could end up being a good thing. Leon and Connor are coming in fresher. I think last year Leon burned out in the 3rd round and Connor by the end of the finals. It’s all lessons learned. It also gave guys like Brown, Henrique, Skinner and Arvidsson more touches late in the season and they are all coming in confident. The big blow is Ekholm but at the same time if we can get out of round 1 and he returns he comes in fresh for the deeper rounds as well.

My take is fresher, but not fresh enough. Considering the amount of games these guys have played hard for the last several years off a week off here or there is some good bandaids. It'll serve to have them better rested for a series. Its not enough rest to go the whole dance. Thats what really irks me about how much of the forward lineup was just letting McDrai carry the mail all season. It does matter.

On contender teams top players can have whole months where they are out or playing subpar. This roster doesn't afford that.

We should see McD and Drai come out like gangbusters in round 1. But not enough rest for that to be ongoing.
 
This isnt looking good. Bowman and Jackson regressed this team trememdously this year. Even if we somehow squeeked by LA. We arent going to last long. All sorts of holes and castoffs. Honeslty LA looks ready to put us out of our geriatric misery

Multiple playoff games should result in the team not flying to LA for Game 1 and I’m not even joking.

Yeah, its incredible that bowman and jackson are in the dressing room injuring all the good players.
 
I guess the real story this postseason is can the Oilers produce enough goals to get wins despite their shortcomings, and extend the season enough to get Ekholm and Frederick back to close to healthy as possible and maybe even get a small contribution by Kane, though even if he’s back, he’ll be rusty after a year off.
 
Has a playoff schedule been announced yet? Hope game 1 isn’t Saturday, going to a Wrestlemania watch party. Bettman could take some cues lol

It won’t be Saturday it’s either Sunday or Monday. Kings end the season Thursday so our series will start Sunday at earliest.
