Well, I think there is a group of 5 teams or so who are pretty equal in the west. I don't think the Oilers really stand out above the others.

They have one year to go all in though. Because next year Draisatl is gone or commands $16 million. And Bouchard will likely be getting $12 million.
lol you wish, but that will never happen

They’re deep. You have to think Kane, Ceci or McLeod is traded at some point? I’m guessing it’s McLeod.

Pretty pleased with the forward group.

Obviously blue line and net is still a bit of a question but the thing nobody is pointing out is that Knoblauch will have an entire training camp to iron out some of the details in their systems play.

It was already elite, and I like Arvidsson. Not sure what to think of that bottom-6, honestly.

Pretty good job mostly keeping a Cup finals team intact, retaining your rental and adding a couple Top 6 wingers.

They’ll have to do a little cap gymnastics but from Jeff Jackson’s interview it sounds like they’re going to pull some ltir shenanigans with Kane. In the interview he alluded to the fact that Kane has some health issues to take care of and that he’d see specialist and get second opinions throughout the summer. So it sounds like they’ll drag it out all summer and time when he goes under the knife.

They should have the best forwards in the league anyway. They have McDavid and Draisaitl to start with, no other team has two forwards that good, Jackson was just proactive instead of moving at a snail's pace like Holland was doing or being an idiot like Chiarelli.

The league has changed, you have to be more aggressive as a manager.

This is proof positive that you can get shit done, it's not like Jeff Jackson had a mountain of cap space to work with either.

Why should any other team even bother showing up next year? Clearly, according to Oilers fans they are an unstoppable juggernaut.

The only question is how fast they will win the cup. Maybe four straight sweeps.
We’re not allowed to be excited, You should be excited too, your team to signed Mantha. You guys may finish 10th in the west this year.

You can do the injury thing for any team. If Demko is healthy, the Oilers are most likely out in round 2. If a few key Stars players were healthy likely round 3.

Injuries are a part of the game.
Silovs played like Hasek for half the series. The Canucks didn’t lose because Demko was out and they didn’t lose because Boesser was out. They lost because they thought the series was over after game 5 and came in to game 6 thinking they had two games to close it out. Over confidence killed them nothing else.

Is there a saltier group than Oilers fans? Good lord...
Yes Canucks and flames fans

Every other team that makes the Finals is allowed to think they are great except the Oilers apparently for some reason.

This is a very good hockey team. Accept it and move on.

Arvidsson was a nice pickup. But offense was never the question.

I still can't believe they passed on Wallstedt a few years ago. Imagine if they had him in the pipeline.
Still a head scratcher, but we have Olivier Rodrigue coming up. 2 years older, 2 inches shorter, but similar AHL #'s last season.

Oilers are absolutely loaded now. Cup favorites as of now.
Agreed. That forward group is nuts.

I think we still need a RD, but we might address that in season. Skinner-Pickard should be able to hold the fort, especially behind that group.

for... being happy we have a strong forward group?

Not sure if they are the best, but one of the best and their second line has been an issue for a number of seasons, just not consistent at all. Definitely more talented and should do more 5 on 5 then it has in a long time. The third line is solid as well. Definitely a a really good group of forwards and the best support McDavid and Draisaitl have had.
