Pre-Game Talk: The Oilers But The Difficulty Is Set To Nightmare Mode

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Maybe this is the jolt our team team needs to wake some the guys up before the playoffs.

As long as Mcdrai come back at 100 percent this won't be a bad thing. I'd rather be overly cautious with them
Yesterday at this time I was genuinely curious to see what this team was going to look like without Draisaitl in the lineup. We’ve never seen that in all the time he’s been here, it was an opportunity for other guys to step up. There’s an even bigger opportunity today. I liked the fight in the third period last night after McDavid was lost too. A lot of guys looked like they had more energy than they’ve shown all year. For a short period they should be able to hold their heads above water. If they can’t then they probably are as useless as they’ve looked all year and should be shuffled out during the off-season.

We played the jets really well in the 3rd. Surprised we tied it up without McDrai.

Solid defensive game with elevated performance by Nuge and Hyman and I think .500 is more than reasonable expectation.
I actually expected we were getting the tying goal. I was worried we'd give one right back...

Oilers at times were caving jets in first and third periods and it wasn't just one line either, pretty much any line and Jets were overall guilty of getting worked. It happens. For whatever reason they didn't have their sleeves rolled up on this roadtrip and we beat a version of them not playing particularly well. As in Which Winnipeg Jet player or line played well. Nobody in topsix did.

Was kind of an ugly game with respect to two good teams being in it. Probably didn't match what a game between the clubs could be but perhaps both clubs back pedaling more in this one.

Kinda funny that we finally have a magical game where everyone looks like their prime selves and now McDrai are out. Just let us have fun hockey gods!!

I’m sure they’ll be back soon

But if the doomer nightmare situation comes true it would be more funny than anything especially if Frederic doesn’t even get to play for us

But we’ll be fine, not missing the playoffs and I highly doubt it’s a serious injury for McDrai

I don’t think we’ll miss the playoffs due to these injuries but seeing Nuge at 1C doesn’t inspire much confidence for me.
It’s time for him to prove me wrong.

Honestly not as bad as I was expecting, considering the circumstances.

Not as bad as you were expecting? There are 8 fourth liners in that forward group. And lets not act like Skinner, Henrique and Arvidsson have been all that far off either this season.

Well 9 fourth liners would be worse 😂
