Pre-Game Talk: The Oilers But The Difficulty Is Set To Nightmare Mode

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

Potentially drai and mcdavid out. Let's see if this team can pick up the slack.

Oh and bring up savoie

Does this mean all of Ryan, Jones, Brown, Kapanen and Janmark in the lineup at once ?

Please tell me we will call up on one of Philp or Savoie so we can at least get another look at eBay they might bring to the table.
Can't do any call ups unless it's an emergency basis per Knoblauch

It’s a very real possibility especially if they lose the next handful of games and if skinner is in net. Offense will be very tough to come by.
Its possible in the mathematical sense. I don't know its realistically possible. Don't take my word. Do pts permutations. Teams behind us have a huge stagger to make up. 8pts AND all the teams trailing us are also trailing RegW tiebreaker. So they actually have to finish with more pts. We have 85pts. Even a paltry 10more nets us 95pts and teams behind us have to pretty much run the table. Only the Blues are even hot. Flames and Nucks aren't up to much. But Blues also only have 12 games left.

I do hope we can bottle some simplicity to our game if the top 2 guys miss time together here.
Too much of this team's plan defers to those 2. Reminding these guys to bring their best won't be the worst thing for a couple games
The strangest thing with this team, and hard to look at, is the deferring goes on even when McD and Drai are on different lines. or the supporting cast are. To wit I don't know wny it has to be wait until both are down with injury for Pods to have his best on puck game of the season last night. There seemed to be a determination from him, from J Skinner, and has been lately from Nuge, but all these players that aren't packing punch much of the season, and so many others. Theres pods last night dancing with the puck on sideboards, effectively using body to protect it, beating coverage and making plays. Is it like impossible to do that just because McD or Drai are on ice? Drai particularly WANTS his linemates to retain and cycle puck.
