Buffalo Bills The offseason begins

  • Xenforo Cloud is doing server maintenance Thurdsay 13th at 9 AM GMT. Downtime is to be expected during the process. Server changes were implemented recently to cope with the traffic surge last week. This seems to be affecting the user login, so please anyone experiencing this, log out and clear the browser cache. We expect to have this issue solved once the maintenance is complete.
  • We are currently aware of "log in/security error" issues that are affecting some users. We apologize and ask for your patience as we try to get these issues fixed.
Hated the Elam pick the moment it happened. From KC jumping them for a better prospect to never being a scheme fit…at least it taught Beane a lesson about drafting for need. And Benford bailed him out in round six. But man…could we have used any kind of contributor from that pick in this window.

We have our moments :D

ALL s/m is a cesspool of trolls, nuts, crazies, spoofers, bots, etc.
I have a new re-appreciation for simple things in life because of it, music, books, movies, pets, nature, cooking, gardening, volunteering, travel, etc. Those are the things that will let your soul go to good place in the end imho.

hf boards is about the last refuge "mostly" for sane Bill's talk and thanks to the good work of our mods (@Zman5778 & @Chainshot and members.
I love on Reddit and Twitter whenever any guy who may have had a name in the league that people recognize, even if they've been shitty for a decade, the posters immediately put the "BEANE GO GET HIM" gifs up. So cool!

Just once I'd like to break some news in this thread. I had the Elam trade rather quickly for my standards. Tweet copied, and ready to paste, but you guys are too quick haha.

I'm happy he'll get a change of scenery. He always said the right things and seemed to work hard. I'm rooting for him to have a successful career.

A late round pick swap like this is usual for a guy like Elam that is a cheap reclamation project.

He counts $2.5M against the cap for Dallas. That's not bad for a CB3.
The money’s not bad but the player…

I’m biased against him given some stuff I’ve heard but even then, I think it’s a lotto ticket I wouldn’t be buying

I don't think he's a CB3. I think that's where BB did well in the trade. We were probly planning on cutting him anyways. So we gain draft capital and shed salary. Solid.

The Bills weren't cutting him because there was zero cap savings if they did it.

It was trade him for anything they could get for the cap savings or they likely kept him as CB4/5 for the season.

In Dallas, he might be CB2.

They have Diggs and a bunch of nothing...

Does a 5+6 get you a 4th? Does a 4th and 5th get you in the 3rd? I want to see Beane Madden the shit of all these late picks.

I don't think they have the trade figured in, yet.

But for fun, 169+177 should get you up to around 130 or 131.

30+56 gets you up to around 17.

30+56+62 gets you up to around 12. But, good luck getting a team to move that far back without a future 1st in the deal,

I thought we were going to have to trade Elam and a 6th for a 7th just to shed him and his money.

Happy he went to Dallas, perfect fit for a dimwitted player I never liked. Good riddance, truly.

I wouldn't say dimwitted. I liked Kaiir. Just was a bad fit for our scheme.
He's the among the most dimwitted players I've ever observed in any sport.

It's right there in the painful, slow interviews.

It's right there in his inability to pick up on coaching and limit his incessant grabbing and penalties.

For a guy who supposedly has all the physical tools to flame out as badly as he did, surely he is missing something upstairs.

I still think Elam had worlds of potential that we didn't utilize. Hope the best for him and Beane did the right thing even if the compensation was lackluster.
They reached when KC took McDuffie ahead of us and bought into his notebook act at the combine. Sometimes it doesn't work out and you move on in life like a divorce sometimes people can't/accept-do it.
