Which is what the agent should be pushing for. If I'm Beane, though, that $15 million goes to the offensive line and turn to the next man up. $15M for a running back, right now, is HOF back money (Barkley and McCaffrey); I'm not sure Cook is on that level.

James Cook played slightly less than 50% of offensive snaps in 2024 and was outside the top 15 in the NFL in rushing attempts and rushing yards.

Explain to me the logic that says that he should get the 2nd biggest RB contract in the league like I'm 5 years old.

The Eagles had a grand total of 0 playoff wins in the first 7 seasons that Howie Roseman was GM. And they stuck with him and let him learn and evolve.

Some fans wanted Nick Siriani fired early this season.

And it flared up earlier this season when he chirped some home fans after the game.

Plenty of fans were calling for him to be fired if he didn't apologize. Which, given the history of behavior of Philly fans, was hilarious to me. The definition of "I can dish it out, but I can't take it."

Too bad Cook's walk year doesn't match up with this insane RB draft class. Hard to say goodbye to Ty or Ray to make room for a rookie this year.

I love Cook, but he hasn't earned top of the market.

If Cook stays healthy, in this offense, he can probably go out at get 15M (or more) as a free agent, depending on next year.

But, he has to weigh that against

A) The long term risk. All running backs are one bad cut from blowing out their knee and being, effectively, done in the NFL.
B) Does he want to get paid or does he want to win? Saquon to the Eagles was a. pretty rare thing. Typically championship grade teams can't give out premium contracts like that.

I'd love to keep him...but at like 10-11M per. Even give him some easy incentives to make a little more.

A little surprised they didn't get Anderson wrapped up longer term/with a payday but maybe they still eventually will. I still think he will be Edwards eventual replacement at LG.

He was an ERFA this offseason who will be a RFA next offseason.

There was absolutely no reason for the team to commit to Alec Anderson more than this at this point in time.

paying a player and making him happy to stay long term was my point. They could also get a offer sheet on him next off-season I believe ?

Hollywood has never gotten a serious payday. His one year deal with the Chiefs this year was his first post rookie contract deal. He’s made a decent amount because he was a first round pick, but he’s definitely in the “still needs to get paid” camp.

Slayton already had one go at FA and didn’t have a huge market. Not sure if he will this time.

Personally I think all of these options are fine.

Didn't know that about Brown or Slayton, but I didn't look on Spotrac either. I'm good with any of the three as long as it doens't impede the defensive upgrade.

Browns would have to rework Watson deal again to bring down his $73 mill cap charge like they done before. Convert base salary into a bonus in order for them to move Garrett and absorb the $36 mill dead cap charge.

But the buff pick at 30 not sure it isn’t any better to get the picks starting in 26 draft.

Jeremiah says this draft has only about 12 or so first round grades. So that might makes the browns prefer a post June trade. Unless one of the top 12 draft position teams call. Such as Chicago, SF. But most of the bottom 12 clubs haven’t shown enough to convince Garrett to want to go there.

Another reason the Browns might want a post June 1st trade.
