Buffalo Bills The offseason begins

Ehhh

Last 5 years you got Rousseau, Bernard, and Benford who are your impact players. Only 3 impact guys on D over 5 years isn't enough.
Biggest problem is they get good but not game-wrecking elite guys. And sure, it's hard to find those game-wreckers, but they gotta get some home runs instead of getting singles and hoping they can win that way.

Serious question, how many times have we lost by more than one score in the last three years? How many times by double digits?
I think the Baltimore game was our only double digit in a certain amount of years, and I think was the only one with more than one score.

It’s not “hoping they can win that way.” This team lost the AFC championship game by three points while playing a bad game…and having a ball dropped that put them in FG range. This team, the way it has been built and coached, is clearly good enough to win a Super Bowl. But i agree, having a game wrecker on defense, especially a pass rusher, would really improve the team.

In what was widely acknowledged as a "reset" year before the season began - especially on defense. We had the 4th highest dead cap number in the league.

Mahomes going from a McDermott defense to a Fangio defense must feel like someone changing the settings on your game from rookie to legendary while you’re in the bathroom

What are you talking about? Fangio is rushing a straight 40 front with no help. Aside from some of the man defense the Eagles are talking about, Fangio has run two high safeties all game and hasn’t blitzed.

It couldn’t be more like McDermott’s defense.

The difference is the defensive line, primarily with support from the defensive backfield. It’s not coaching.

Injuries and age turned our secondary into an even bigger weakness over the course of the season. I expect a little money to be spent on the secondary this offseason.
I suspect we'll have a new boundary corner to replace Douglas but I think Bishop/Rapp will be the starting duo at safety. They still don't have all that much money to spend (especially if they're in the market for Garrett). Honestly I'd like to improve at Bernard's spot too. The bloom is coming off that rose a little bit for me.

It's already been shown Ace will invent narratives out of thin air to criticize McDermott...I wouldn't bother, he'll keep repeating the same things going forward on the NFL board.

People are going to try to tell you this game is proof they weren’t rigging games for the Chiefs.

It isn’t.

It’s proof of what happens when they hand pick a team that needed massive help to get somewhere they didn’t belong.
