Buffalo Bills The offseason begins

  • We're expecting server maintenance on March 3rd starting at midnight, there may be downtime during the work.

I know DL is the position we need to hammer, but if he slips at all due to position devaluing, I would easily part with picks to trade up and get him. Special, special player that would make a day 1 splash.

Man, I’m so torn……

There are very few players I’d be happy to see us draft that’s not a DT/DE at 30.

Malaki and Emmanwori will both be studs. Depending on how the board falls — if it’s DT/DE heavy early on and one of these two fall to us, or within our reach? I know we have Rapp, and I have high expectations for Bishop, but I wouldn’t hate either of these picks.

DT + Edge. Fill those voids with someone competent. Add a CB + WR. A heavy RB later on. This is really a sensational draft for Beane and the Bills.

I have zero problems with the Bills going safety. Honestly, they should probably even look at adding two this year - one to replace Bishop (who should replace Hamlin) and another to develop on the practice squad so Beane then has the option to cut Rapp in 2026. Beane can then use the two second-round picks on DL, and two fourth-round picks on RB and WR, respectively.

(Added perk of drafting safety is that the fifth-year option should only help Beane as he tries to manage the books.)

It's Isas "Ice" Waxter who is the CB from Villanova.

Another late round CB prospect that might be helped by recency bias for a CB from their small school having NFL success is UTSA's Zah Frazier who is trying to follow in Tariq Woolen's footsteps.

The four starters Joe has on the list are at DE, DT (upgrade on Jones), CB, & WR (field stretcher).

The FA WR market is not great.

It will be interesting to see if they feel like a FA DT is better than the likely options in a deep draft class.

The same goes for EDGE. Although, the trade route is the most likely path to adding a difference maker there.

It will be fascinating to me to see how they approach the CB position. The big question is can they lock up Benford long term this offseason or not. That might change how they approach replacing Douglas this offseason.
