I think I was one of few who didn't want him to go. Here's hoping you get your name on the cup ... you certainly never would have done that here.

Been a huge Murray fan for years. Giant Murray fan while others talked about how Davison was better or we should be starting x-AHLer. Over the past few years, missing Murray from the lineup destroyed the Sharks. He's been awesome, and as an 8th rounder became a top-pairing Dman with Boyle and an all-around solid #4 in his prime. For only a couple months of Murray, the Sharks have netted a return of 2 2nd rounders and landed him on probably the cup favorite team.

Thank you Murray, and go knock some eastern conference fools on their butts.

As a Pens fan I am pretty stoked to acquire Crankshaft. I understand he's lost a step, but I think if he is paired with one of our PMD he should be fine. We just need him to clear the crease and patrol the blueline. Really wish we had him for another flyer game. Also nice to know he won't let Sid or Geno get the crap beaten outa them. :yo:

He really hasn't been the same since the busted adams apple. Not sure if it's age or just lost conditioning that he never got back. Either way, hope he gets right for the playoff run and does well. Huge fan favorite in SJ even if he's been getting killed on hfboards for the last couple months.

Even though Murray has been declining, he's still one of my favorite Sharks. I'm very happy with the trade and what we received, but it's still sad to see him go. My favorite memories will be of opposing players trying to hit him and just bouncing off. No matter how may times it happened, they never seemed to learn that hitting Dougie just didn't work. Best of luck to him.

One of the classiest all-time Shark D-men, regardless of "stats." Crankshaft delivered freight-train hits to every forward in the West like he was inviting them to a private party with multiple UberTaps. He felt he 'owed' it to them.

Like DW said, Murray earned a transfer ticket to a "quality situation which he deserves."

I hope every Eastern forward Crankshaft runs over realizes that they earned it too.

Wish nothing but the best to Dougie. :handclap: He was nothing but heart and I'll miss him. This was simply the right thing to do though.

I'll miss Crankshaft. His hits were always entertaining, he was well spoken and gave good interviews, and his fights were great viking rage filled clashes. He truly was a Douggernaut.

I'll miss photoshopping him too.

Good luck in penguinland Murray!

One of my favorite Sharks, just wasn't what they needed. Too bad, and I'll be rooting for Pitt now.

One last time, for posterity.

this was one of the first meme-type images I ever did on HF. it's almost harder to post this knowing it's for the last time than it is to accept the trade itself.

Murray was just awesomeness and toughness personified. I'm gonna miss seeing people try to hit him only to get hit instead. Thanks for being an awesome Shark Murray! Now go on and get your cup in Pittsburgh!

:handclap:
