You may know where your seat is, however the ushers still feel the need to check your tickets and make sure you're going to the right spot.
I don't mind the lanyards...it's something for me to stick my ticket in, I flash it, and then go to my seat. They don't have to give us anything, so it's a nice gesture.
I love the lanyards. It's a great place to put my ticket in and not have to worry about having a 3rd hand to show my ticket to the usher when it's requested. Personally though I've gone to sporting events in other states (away from tri state) and the ushers always ask EVERYONE for their tickets, and hell, some even walk with you to your seat.. what a concept!
