Jets are 19th overall... mathematically we could drop as low as 23rd overall
Looks like Jets can no longer end in 10th draft spot. If SJ and ANA both win out, they’d get 82 points (WPG is 81). HOWEVER… SJ and ANA play each other. They could go to OT so one team gets the loser point and go to tiebreak with WPG at 81… but I believe WPG wins all tiebreakers with both teams. So now 11th draft spot is the best they can finish. (Although that’s extremely unlikely)

Basically, we are realistically finishing in the 13th or 14th draft slot depending on how the Jets versus Islanders finish.

Kinda silly to say if bad team X wins out and Jets lose out, we can finish with a better draft spot. Please. Don’t waste your fantasizing energy on that nonsense.

Jets schedule: Col, Phi, Cal, Sea
NYI schedule: Buf, Car, Was x2, TBL

Jets up a point, NYI with a game at hand. NYI opponents are generally better and have a bit more to play for. I think NYI have the edge for 13th overall.

Lottery notwithstanding it really doesn’t matter all that much to me. I mildly hope the Isles overtake us but my give a shit factor of the margin between 13th and 14th is nothing.

Jets no longer can finish in 11th draft spot or have a chance at #1 overall pick via lottery. Now locked into the 12-15 spots, unless a team in 12 or above wins lottery. Hope for wins from Columbus, NYI and Vancouver going forward.

CBJ lost, so Jets can no longer finish in 12th draft spot. They’re now locked into 13-15 draft slots pending draft lottery. Cheering for wins from NYI and Van.

Jets seem locked into 14th spot as long as Canucks gain 1 point, Jets lose 1 point, or Jets win one of their games in shootout.

Canucks won! So 14th spot it is. Unless the Islanders gain one more point than the Jets in one less game than the Jets. I don’t think that’s likely seeing as Jets still play Seattle. But… crazier things have happened.

Watch Vancouver (or Vegas) win the lottery and the Jets fall back to the 15th spot.

If Vegas won the lottery, you know all we would hear on this board is...

Did Vegas put lottery protection on that traded pick? Wouldn’t think they would have because I don’t think they expected to miss the playoffs.

this is my "beef" with how things transpired. maurice said he talked to both chevy and chipman last summer over his position on the team & if he's the right person. imo if a person of power, a supposed leader has any inkling of moving on, or questioning if they can lead a team or do this - you have to start looking for replacement. it tells me their heart isn't in it anymore, and that's ultimately was led to maurice quitting.
we had about 65% of the season left when maurice quit, and were not out of it by an insurmountable amount of points. in a year where we were hyped to be a contender, & chevy spending nearly ~$10M + draft picks on Schmidt & Dillon, + likely desperate for that PO $$$, he figured the best person to turn the season around was Lowry? :dunno:.
so they had an idea and still were unprepared!!!

Did it make any difference? Nothing seems to have changed at all
If Jets didn’t win last 3 games, it would’ve moved them 1 spot from 14th to 13th draft spot behind NYI… regardless of results of game 82 vs Seattle. And if Jets had lost last 3 games plus upcoming game vs Seattle, Jets would lose tiebreaker with CBJ at 12th spot due to regulation wins. So - losing last 4 games of season would only move them one spot.
