Somehow that call at the end wasn't the most baffling thing about the ending of Cal-Texas. What in the hell was Strong thinking by choosing to punt with under 2 minutes left? Cal just hung 50 on you ... did you really expect your defense to hold them to a 3 and out?

Meanwhile NC State got a 15 yard penalty on a play where the kick returner flirted with coming out of the end zone and kept hovering his knee up and down around the .1 yard line. The ref, standing right there watching, did not whistle the play dead or wave his arm to signal the play dead. So we hit him and got a penalty because somehow they were supposed to spot his knee going down for half a second as they were sprinting through players trying to take their head off.

That is bad but in fairness to the SC State player, his team didn't have a shot in hell of winning anyways, so it's not like it was a difference maker.
