The NHL needs a singular streaming app to watch every game of the season

MLB had that service, did they change it?

Like all other streaming services, it's subject to blackouts and always has been. And you need Apple TV, Amazon Prime and MLB Network (possibly more that I can't think of right now) on top of MLBTV if you want to be guarnateed to see every game of your team. Because baseball sold exclusive rights to those platforms in recent years.

Basically, one singular service to watch all the games with no blackouts is a pipe dream that iwll never happen.

Bettman didn't value streaming right when he did the last TV deal so we're stuck with a bunch of different companies holding the rights.

He made a 7 year deal in 2021, so we'll have to wait until 2028 to see some change.
Very curious to see what a new deal looks like for the league

They won't do this until the revenue they can make from it equals or surpasses the revenue they are currently making from TV deals. Because you know that these TV networks will want to pay less if the NHL is having more broadcast options available. The technology is there. The economics of it likely don't make sense.

Damn i didn't know that! Haven't watched baseball in a while but the MLB app used to be great for me as a Canadian.

Yep. It costed me $260 Cdn to watch every single English Premier League game. An infinitely more popular league.

I don't even know what I would have to buy for the equivalent.
