HHOF has really diluted the requirements lately. So sure, why not

I think he should be in with his current resume but he might score 100 pts this year and could win another Norris. That would make him a lock if that happens.
Probably not but maybe as a builder for his country? He’s Swiss right? Is he not the first Swiss everything really?

Wouldn't be surprised if that happens honestly, he reallys seems to get better and better year after year so... why not ? At one point he will start to really slow down for sure but I don't think it will be this year

I'm trying to think of a D-Men with five Top-5 Norris finishes who isn't in, or won't be in, or who isn't Jean-Claude Tremblay (politics), and I can't think of any. Josi getting it would absolutely not lower any bar. Larry Murphy, who is probably somewhat comparable albeit a bit worse, is already in the HHOF, and exactly no one thinks he's the worst or second worst or fifth worst D-Men in the HHOF.
Meanwhile, the totally different but also totally comparable Shea Weber just got in with exactly that, five Norris Top-5. Weber got a bit more international accolades (I reckon he had an easier road to that than Josi) and I'd probably take his career before Josi's if Josi had to retire today, but really, all I'm saying is Josi is not quite as good as an average HHOF D-Men.

He's scored 96 pts before. He had 85 last year and now he gets to pass the puck to Stamkos and Marchessault all season long.
If Bibi Torriani isn't in then I don't see an argument for Josi as anything else than an NHL player.

“Future” HOF’er meaning we’re not just thinking about his argument now, but what it will be in a few years. He is still on top of his game and could add something, who knows. A Cup would go a long, long way for a guy like Josi.
Either way, the standards at the HOF have been driven so low that I’d rather see him in than out. He’s a lot better player than some of the ones inducted in recent years.

I think he would be a lock or near lock if he didn't play another game and a quick look at his similarity scores on hockey reference, while not the ideal tool has the top 10 comparables thru 13 years all in except for Doughty, who is a lock and Gary Suter (who is 10th)and Suter doesn't have near the Norris resume that Josi has.
The one knock on Josi is that he doesn't have a great playoff resume but he has 7 top 7 Norris finishes.

I don’t see it personally and have watched a lot of his career. Very good player but a Norris and a couple high scoring seasons doesn’t scream all time great to me.
IMHO I don’t think he’s a dominant player which is what someone should be to be in the HoF. It won’t bother me either way and he’s been great for Nashville, but my vote is no.

His 95 point season was the most points by a defenseman since Leetch 30 years ago. He was very dominant that year, especially in the 2nd half of the season.

Like the hart trophy, you gotta be a real flash in the pan to have a Norris and not get in. He has a Norris and multiple nominations. You don’t need to compare a bunch of other useless stats with others to figure it out. He’ll get in.
