Pairing Zidlicky and Harrold, even on a PP, is ridiculously stupid. I cannot wait until Volchenkov is healthy or Sal or Merrill gets his chance.

Zidlicky and Harrold are fine on the Powerplay. Those 2 and Gelinas are the only Dmen with offensive skills, so they have to play back there. Volchenkov and Sal should not see powerplay time, and Greene is a Powerplay trainwreck because he cant shoot.

Great win for the Devils, we really needed that.

Still not sure how we score so much with Brodeur, and so little with Schneider.

That's really not something to make light of, though.

I'm sure it's p*ssing Cory off to no end that this is happening when he's playing just as well as Marty but isn't getting the same Goal-support.

He is speeding into the zone really well. Almost to fast as sometimes it seems Zubs can't quite keep up.

Neither can keep up. But once they establish position on the boards it is a thing of beauty.

I wish DeBoer would do a little more in-game line experimenting. I know a lot of fans hated the Lemaire line confusion method, but it seems DeBoer is the exact opposite in that regard. I think this team is still trying to find chemistry and I don't really like how DeBoer sets his lines and stays with them not matter what.

I say all that cause I'd really like to see a little Zajac and Elias at left wing. I don't know if DeBoer would see an Elias-Zajac-Jagr line as all his eggs in one basket but I think that added dimension of skill and creativity Elias can bring along with the strong forecheck Jagr and Zajac can bring would create a few more scoring chances than Zubrus can on that line.

I don't know, but like in the LA game when you haven't scored a goal in 2 and 1/2 periods and you are still rolling with the same exact lines that just seems bull-headed to me.

Ya that kind of confused me too, especially because in the past he HAS just started shuffling the lines around mid game when we weren't scoring.

I would like to see a Elias-Zajac-Jagr line. Elias and Jagr were developing some solid chemistry, and with that amount of skill and creativity that line could do some serious damage.

I usually agree with you, Jim -

This I disagree with.

One of the sole reasons we are scoring ANY goals is that Jagr asked Pete to keep his line the same to gain some chemistry and gain some momentum.

There is nothing worse than the random scrambling of lines. It takes time to gel with linemates, to get an idea of what they will do in certain situations.

The reason he was playing CBGB so much at some points was that they were the only line with a clue of running his system. Brunner, Ryder, Jagr and everyone new were so out-of-position that we were having runaway opposing forwards down the middle of the ice every period.

I think the lack of scoring for Cory the other night was a direct result of Elias and Gionta re-entering the lineup and screwing up the line that had scored nearly ALL of the previous goals (Carter JJ Cam) and moving Henrique off of center where he had finally found his stride.

If anything, he has to be more careful about his constant tinkering, and let some of the players just spend some time on the ice together.

If Elias had spent the whole season with just Brunner so far, I think you'd have a nice combo. Or Ryder. But he's been shuffled around like a Bangkok *****.
