Edmonton would routinely beat chicago during the decade of darkness and the height of chicago dynasty. It happens, it’s a long season. I remember back in the good old days, when the Detroit Red Wings and the Colorado Avalanche were the powerhouses, they would get shutout by a bad team.
Ducks have been doing the same thing. It’s amazing what good goaltending does.Blackwood played out of his mind tonight. Great win for the Sharks. Beat one of the top teams in the league so that's a bonus.
If someone on a basketball version of HF posted a thread on the main board about the Washington Generals beating the Globetrotters I'm pretty sure nobody would object. This belongs in NJ / SJ boards
Keefe coached team to a T.yeah... It's Keefe's fault that Blackwood probably played the best game in his career.
Cause Keefe himself is on the ice to score goals?Keefe coached team to a T.

noIt's almost like any team can beat any other team on any given night.
During those days, I remember Anaheim would always play well against the Avs. Still can't explain it. I live near Anaheim so would always go see the Avs when they came into town. I have no facts to back it up, but if I feel that if I went to about 15 games, Avs would only win 50% of those games against the Ducks. It happens, it’s a long season. ehh.. I don't know if its the water or something but this year is an odd one on the Devils board. The Devils aren't destroying anyone quietly or anything but it seems like a large portion of the fanbase are conditioned to be unhappy.I'm saying this as a criticism of myself and my team's fanbase. Devils fans were more positive after this loss than Rangers fans were after their 4-0 win against Detroit. I think Rangers fans are the only fans that pretty consistently hate on their team no matter if they blow the other team out. I do this myself so now calling anyone out. But the Rangers are a top 3 or top 5 most negative fanbase in the NHL.
Edit: Sorry, just realized I hijacked a bit. Props on the maturity from Devils fans on not taking this loss too hard.

-Some fans think the playoff season was a mirage and we will always suck
-Some think the goalies are the same as last yera.
- some think the roster is flawed to the core
And some think all the above.
Feels like in the 2010's and even recently winning a game would make everyone giddy and happy. Now it just feels like just a a shrug and an "eh" because it wasn't a convincing win.
Maybe it's better then the Rangers board but its definitely not sunshine and rainbows across the street.
The loss wasn't that bad, The Devils played hard but just couldn't score and I think a lot of us felt the old "revenge of the spiteful goaltender" curse coming from a mile away.Sounds like the Rangers board, lol. I guess higher expectations for the Devils plus last year's debacle has made Devils fans negative as well. But I've read people that were somewhat positive about the loss as in the grand scheme of things being NBD.
