OT: The Music Thread Part Xi

Martin Barre very underrated guitarist.
Well he did appreciate another player I know we both are fond of.

"Barre once said that he tried not to listen to other guitarists so that he would not be influenced by them. He said he never took guitar lessons so that he would not sound like other players. However, one guitarist he has praised and recognized as being an influence is Leslie West, from the American band Mountain."

This is all I got today.

I am disgusted, turned off and tuned out of the Boston Bruins at present.

Not all of his ashes. They'll be minus the ones used to tattoo James Hetfield's middle finger.

Bangles from the beginning,

A gift from Prince, who fancied Susannah Hoff's,

Simon & Garfunkel,

*As previously noted, there was an alternate version of "Walk Like An Egyptian," with an alternate title, making the rounds at the time.

"James" is a killer song. That whole album is quite good.

I've been on a massive Bunnymen kick recently. They are one of my go-to bands, though I don't much care for their post-1985 work. Reading the Will Sergeant's (lead guitarist) memoir right now. I wish I could have seen them live in the 80's. Pete's drumming is awesome.

It's funny. Other than "The Killing Moon" (a killer track),

I never really got into Echo and the Bunnymen.

They were too hip for me. The kind of group all the trendies at Newbury Comics & Nuggets liked.

But I did buy and put up a poster of "Heaven Up Here," simply because I thought it was cool,
