Great Call. One of the best. You won't get any arguments from anyone from Texas.

Never got a chance to see him live, but I've heard his shows were one of a kind.

I saw the Heartbreakers many times. They were always great. Mike C. was very good as was Benmont Tench on keyboards/ piano.

The celebration for Tom's 70th birthday (he had already left this earth) had just these two play together. Benmont used to sing backup, but Mike did not. If you watch all of this (3 songs) you hear Mike sing and he kind of sounds a bit like Tom. If you watch all of it, you will hear how excellent Benmont is on piano.

At the time it was nice (and kind of heartbreaking) to see these two together again as they had not been playing together much since Tom died. I believe Mike had been with Fleetwood Mac and wanted to get Ben back out playing.

Anyway, as most here know they were one of my favorite bands. Some bands sound good but can't pull it off live....The Heartbreakers were ALWAYS good live.
