OT: The Music Thread: Part XI

i love the black lillies. great post. my son and i saw them years ago at a very small venue, the arts center in carbarro, nc, and his band was killer. my son was young then maybe 10th or 11th grade and Cruz was so nice to him and stood for a few photos with him.

Saw them about 10 years ago in a bar in Southington, Ct. They were putting out a new album and were going to tour, so it was like a practice show. Monday night, no advertising. I stumbled on it. $10 to see the show from the bar, $20 to get up front. They were great!

This is why I love this forum. I just found a new band! Shocked that I've never heard of these guys before.
They're fantastic. Thanks for sharing.

Oh my that band is good. Yes. Learn so much from all of you. Keep posting mofos.

Hub Hall is right next to the Pro Shop at TD Garden.

I think I have had one sandwich there using a gift card. But I frequent it often because the bathroom at the pro shop is consistently occupied.

They play a lot of music, and sometimes they play some good stuff.

I remember when this came out. ZZ Top rode a second wave in 1984 with some fun, killer stuff that fit the zeitgeist,

One must face

Though today I feel

and that

What to do?

What indeed.

I don't begrudge ZZ Top for deciding to chase a buck and going toward the commercialized overproduced, MTV genre that almost killed Rock N Roll in the 80s. I'm glad that they finally got the widespread recognition they deserved, even if it was partially because of women shaking their asses on a video with a badass car....

But for me, it was a tough pill to swallow. Me and my buddies wore the grooves out of this record...Yeah it had Waiting for the Bus/JJLC, and La Grange on it. But here's a few more that didn't get airplay...
