11/3/91 was an amazing day. this was a free concert in golden gate park, sf billed as the bill graham memorial concert. bill had passed a week before in a helicopter accident coming back from cal expo in Sacramento. my buddy Kenny got to the park very early and we met him soon after with a few hundred thousand others that showed up. Aaron Neville, Jackson Browne, CSNY, bobby McFerrin, Robin williams, santana with los lobos, journey, Joe satriani, tracy Chapman etc. the grateful dead played the longest set with John popper from blues trav and then a healthy John fogerty setlist with the dead backing him. incredible.
