OT: The Movie/TV/Streaming Thread

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server

I've ragged on this show, and rightfully so. But on a re-watch, some (not all!) of the things that bothered me have faded. There were still flaws, and I'm sure there will be things I'm not crazy about, but I'm actually excited for this. They are going to cover my favorite passage of chapters I've ever read in any book, and I'm actually optimistic they will pull it off.

Welcome to the correct side. The show is fine. There’s a hell of a gap between great and what angry nerds think anything less actually is.

I haven’t read the books and have not watched the show, but the snippets I’ve seen the show looks like they received a massive budget that was promptly stolen and gambled away.

I have. The books are also fine.
Ah. For some reason I thought you hadn't. The books certainly have their flaws as well, but it's still my favorite series.

To be fair, they had to deal with things outside of their control that obviously had an effect on the first two seasons. I also think it's criminal that Rings of Power gets a ridiculous budget compared to WOT, which would benefit so much from a couple extra episodes.

Both shows looks like they spent a lot of money to make the costumes look as cheap as possible.

Yeah, I should have said it wasn't on any service to stream for free. I checked Amazon and they have blu rays, but they're all somehow $50 used.

Or...OR...you can get a free Plex account, shoot me your email address, and have access to it (and many, many other movies) for free:

That f***ing service routinely changes its entire self seemingly every other month. I cannot tell you the amount of times that I have been unable to find the movies we own that my wife has added to our Plex.

If you’re sharing frustration to help with downtime at work however, I’m game.

Daredevi Born Again… off to a great start.
I caught a glimpse of bernthal in a trailer. I really hope they revive the punisher series. John’s the best punisher to date and it’s been the best non comic media to date.

I haven't had much trouble with it in several years - probably because I WAS having a lot of issues with it before and burned through every possible failure solution to the point I'm fairly savvy at troubleshooting anymore. Over 1,500 movies (and very, very few shit movies), over 60 TV show series, plus separate folders for Music/Concerts, Pop Culture/Documentaries, etc, The complete classic Looney Tunes, Tom & Jerry, Three Stooges...a staggering number of things I think you'll respond with, "Holy shit! He has THAT?" Plenty for the kids, too, such as most classic Disney, the complete Pee Wee's Playhouse, Dr. Suess, Charlie Brown...you get the picture. I'm currently binging The Office again.

Message me your email and I'll send you an invite.

I legitimately will go into it within a month and have no clue where OUR content is only to find it buried in sub menu after sub menu.
This past week, or maybe the week before I tried for maybe the second time to watch something thru it while not being in the same WiFi and it told me something along the lines of not having enough bandwidth?
Do you need my email ties to my Plex or just any old email because I’m not sure what if any email is tied to my Plex. My phones basically old enough to vote(in phone years).

The submenu thing is a genuine pain in the ass. They should make it much easier. Also, whenever I share my library, the receiver can never seem to find it. I try helping them, but what I eventually found out was it takes about 30-60 minutes for it to appear for them, but not until hundreds of swear words have been uttered.

As for the email you used, go to Account/Account Settings. It should be displayed there.
