Sorry Leaf fans, but not too many people are believing the Leafs are coming back even though it's 3-2.

Has there been a series with more of a sense that there is no way a team can win than this one in the past few years?

Leafs will win Game 6 cause they have to lose in 7, it's the law.

Joking aside, Just this year Winnipeg-Dallas has felt over since Game 1. Perhaps even before the puck dropped in Game 1 since the Jets barely got thru Round 1 (and yes I know the Jets have won one game, but it just feels like they're delaying the inevitable).

With the Leafs I didn't feel it it was over (and it was dead man walking) until they lost in OT in Game 3.

Since Kings vs Oilers has already been mentioned, here are a couple I think fit the bill:

Lightning vs Canadiens, 2021 SCF (4-1)
Panthers vs Hurricanes, 2023 ECF (4-0)
I too was going to mention the 2021 Finals.
Unless Covid knocked out a handful of Tampa players, the Habs were doomed from the start.

I don't think it's even the best example from the Eastern Conference currently. Washington/Carolina felt over very early.

Fresh from my memory from last year’s playoffs.

(M1) New York Rangers vs. (WC2) Washington Capitals

(M2) Carolina Hurricanes vs. (M3) New York Islanders

Oiler vs Knights. It is like the Knights did not try. They were lucky to win one and don't get me started on back to back shutout

There was absolutely no chance the Habs would’ve beat the Lightning in the 2021 SCF. Kucherov laughed and mocked the Habs but it was a reasonable take in an objective sense. Two different weight classes.

I was just about to post the same. That one looked like a foregone conclusion since game 1 and Washington winning game 2 at home didn’t change that.

What’s funny about the Leafs/Panthers series is I thought Toronto was in complete control after the first period of game 3. They were skating circles around the Panthers and I remember thinking what a downgrade their defensemen were this year compared to last year. By the end of the second period of that game I’d completely changed my mind and knew the choker Leafs were back. That second period was where the Panthers won the series and where the Leafs realized they weren’t good enough again and quit.

OK. That is fine with me. I am still going to watch the game (s)

Absolutely no one (except me) gave the Habs a chance of coming back from behind 1-3 on the Leafs in 2021. And then Carey Price disagreed, and so they did.
