OP is right, this is a dark day in franchise history. If and when this trade is complete, this team will drop to the bottom five and it is rebuild the rebuild time. And if Yzerman bungled this trade and butchers this offseason, he should be gone.

Really, he should be gone already.

Plenty will hate on Larkin, I get it, but I won't be one of them. Hope he pulls a Stafford and finds the cup somewhere.

I hope we pull a Lions and get a massive haul for him.

Thursday June 4th 2026. The day Larkin turned his back on Detroit. He quit!

also, a trade request doesn't mean a trade will 100% happen. lots of talk could be going on in the background to see if the relationship is amendable. tbh, this could be larkins last "help the team or i'm out" type thing. i could see this as larkin wants steve to help, steve helps with justin faulk for some faulking reason, larkins team leaks a "trade request" to try to force steve into really improving the team since his nmc might greatly limit his return.

its late and im really high, i hope the scenario im trying to point out comes across in this chunk of text.
