Before I was born - Gretzky was a chump who had never even scored 80 goals in an NHL season. Then - I'm born, and he scores his 80th within a couple of days.
You're welcome Wayne.

On the day I was born,...

goaltender Rogie Vachon recorded his first of two career playoff shutouts, and Dick Duff scored two goals and an assist to lead the Canadiens to a 4-0 win over the St. Louis Blues in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final.

Some youngster named Patrick Roy won the Conn Smythe Trophy and the Canadiens won their 23rd Stanley Cup.

The day I was born: There was only one game (1986/87 season) that ended with a tie between the Penguins and Rangers.

In 1958-1959 season, Glenn Hall played every minute of every game for the Black Hawks. It's was his 4th out of 7 straight years he did that. 2 with Detroit and 5 with Chicago

Cal who?

The month I was born, Bryan Trottier scored 8 points in a game against the Rangers, including 3 goals and 3 assists in a single period which I believe remains the record for points in a period.
