Yeah, I think I cooked those two steaks for a combined total of under 6 minutes.

I got a great deal on them though. I work at a Costco, and our meat department was selling them for $60 per pound.



Why not? Too fatty?
I actually did my butchering today from Costco. Got a prime New York strip loin that yielded ten monster steaks plus I got their sirloin steaks for the two kids, who have quickly gone from barely eating to housing a full sized cut of steak themselves. They’re barely human, so I can’t justify getting them a prime cut. Yet.

@JojoTheWhale took your recommendation and ordered online. Got two Bardstowns and a Blue Note single barrel.

This rye is great with the sherry finish. Although it makes sense since most of my favorite scotches are also sherried.

Glad you enjoyed it! I agree wholeheartedly that sherry finishes are one of the best options for all sorts of brown stuff.

Jay has been doing a ton of small private events in DC, so if you ever get sent down for work or something, it's worth a schedule check. They're always at the Fountain Inn in Georgetown. Bottle lists are typically insane, although not limited to whisk(e)y.
