Marty will be back coaching little kids when we’re ready to compete, a true NHL caliber HC will be hired to take this team to the next level. Couple seasons tops and he’s out, his fangirls better go ask him to sign their panties while they still can.

There’s lots of things I don’t like about Marty, but he brought his team to the playoffs and had two competitive one-goal games against the #1 team in the East.

People are mad at him because Xhekaj isn’t playing and because Demidov isn’t used in a prominent role. It’s ridiculous.

Even the complains about Dvorak being on the ice when he was one of the best players on the ice, if not the best, is crazy. He had to win the faceoff and help his team gain control to the the goalie off.

He probably won’t be there when this team will compete for real, but I find it hard to blame him. It’s like if people expect one of the best team in the league to dominate and make us look bad at times.

Would’ve been an interesting social experiment to hear what this fandom would’ve said had Jon Cooper been the head coach w multiple elite talents yet team floundering in playoffs for 7 years - starting with 4 game sweep by Habs in 2014 w Stamkos having completed 6-full season in NHL, Hedman stalled 5-seasons in, and Kucherov being moved between 3rd & 4th lines…

Look at it, for those people, it is all about their emotions and not about the team. They will try to say that they argue while in fact it is just superficial complaints. They hold a grudge after the event, not before it.

MSL is doing a great job with what he has in hand. Even the players are saying that the message and the goal he fixes help them. So why bother with some childish behaviors of «fans» that apparently know nothing more than crying?

Hutson was put on the first unit PP about 15 games into his rookie year. Zero wrong with that.

It took Matheson getting injured for Hutson to sniff any PP1 minutes and when Math came back, he was given back PP1 duty. It was in the next few games that Hutson was actually given PP1 (probably because Suzuki asked even if that wasn't reported by anyone).

I said all last summer Hutson will be PP1 QB by US Thanksgiving/ early Dec…. It didn’t take some genius to figure it out MSL has a good read when young players can take more ON

that was always the orgs plan, just as Demigod is being given time to adjust before he gets moved to PP1, just as the org is waiting for Guhle to get more experience as they transition more & more of Matheson’s TOI his way, unfortunately injury kept that from starting earlier

Matheson was the one of the highest scoring defensemen last year, he’s one of the two defensemen with the most experience on the team, the most used player on the team and wears an A on his jersey.

I know people hate that, but those things come into play when it’s time to manage the team, you can’t just bend everyone to your will and do what you like as they are all people with emotions, pride and have influence throughout the team.

I don’t even like Matheson, but people should be happy that Hutson ended the season where he did that it’s what St-Louis actually wanted or just the results of circumstances that made it happen. The way it happened, Matheson can’t hold it against the staff.

When the time came, Marty placed him where he should deservingly be, and I think thats commendable.

Xhekaj could barely hang on during the regular season. The Caps are fast and we can't make too many mistakes as they'll make us pay. Struble is right now the safe and reasonable option rather than Xhekaj.

As for Demidov, he's just arrived. He hasn't been a world beater, because it's the toughest spot to come in. He had only two regular season games and few practices. When you compare to Caufield, he had 10 games to prepare for the playoffs when he arrived + 2 games in the AHL. You could also add to that the language barrier, the NA style of play and physicality, etc. It's not the same context.

Your speculation is baseless in regards to Suzuki.

And it makes perfect sense for the coach to ease a player into a role. He doesn’t want to piss off the room or set up the rookie for resentment. 15 games isn’t a long time.

MSL takes forever to adjust, next year we might have a good 2C but our goaltending could be bad. Martin doesn’t adjust, sticks with the same goalie and we lose in 4.

Hes not a good coach,

Motivating people and coaching a team during a live game is not the same.

Hes shown hes uncapable of adapting, what else do you need to understand he doesnt have it?

This is a difference of opinion which you justify the coaches moves and I don't.

Hutson showed vastly better puck and distribution skills then Math. Change should have been 5-7 games in. Laine was a black hole 5on 5 long before Demidov. Struble makes as many mistakes as X, but a few were more dramatic. Does not justify end of the season punishment. Playing Math 28 minutes inlcluding on PK despite having options.

It’s a marathon, not a sprint. They’re looking at things long term with Hutson and how to develop him. Easing him in was the practical thing to do.

Hutson is going to win rookie of the year and we made the playoffs. You’re going to rip him because he got PP1 at 15 games instead of game 8?

Lastly, I don't like his management style. Things like not throwing players under the bus and distinct disdain and wird salads for any mia culpa.

Paul Maurice used to get made fun of regularly here. He’s got a mature tough team. Swap the coaches and the style of teams won’t change.

That team has so many holes you could fit the Titanic inside.

Reading hf MSL ruined Hutson who just broke the all time rookie record for assists just like they hate the SKA coach for ruining a 19 year old playing his first pro season and ended up their best player. Peeps should chill as we have 1% of the info we would need to even put lines on the board.

Christ this guy just took a team of kids with one good line and a bunch of injured vets to the playoffs.

Most of them never were in charge or in a sports situation. Just like politics, they think that because they have a vague idea, their perception is the best one. Tell them that they're biased and they will cry more ... shortsighted people are barely able to see further than their noses.
