HF Habs: The Martin St Louis Thread

Meaning that every team has played around the same amount of games and travelled around the same amount and had around the same amount of rest days since the 4-nations break. The energy excuse does not work, plain and simple.

The NHLPA is in charge of making sure each players get enough rest, theres actual laws involved.

Why is it so hard for you to grasp that certain parts of a schedule are more grueling than others, no matter if all schedules are 82 games long?

This final stretch has been brutal for us in particular.

It's not hard for me to grasp.

I just understand that fatigue accumulation doesn't cap at 10 days, it's a lot more like months, weeks. Nobody is rested at game 82, everyones beat up, no matter the stretch of games played. The Habs have played 6 games in the past 11 days, but so have 16 other teams.

Stop with the excuses.

6 in 10 with the 6 divided into 2 sets of 3 in 4 nights with travel. Stop downplaying it.

Not saying that just used that word cause it was the first that came to mind, but he should be free from some criticism. For the most part if we had any other coach, last night would’ve been a meaningless game and this whole subforum would have their sights on the draft and next season.

Maybe or maybe any other coach would have prevented the horrible October and November fiasco, that we dont know, but now we are 1 points away of a playoffs spot and if some have the right to point out some players mistakes as a reason we didn't clinch yet.....others should be able to point to the fact that MSL should have made some adjustment such as using the hottest player on the ice yesterday in better situation during the game yesterday.......it's all fair game imo.

Does every teams rely on a rookie to provide pretty much all their offense ?

This is what's happening actually.
It's not the whole team, just Hutson.
Hutson is tired.
We saw it too right before the 4 nations and the team went downhill too.
They came back from the 4 nations on fire, both the team and Hutson.

The only reason this team is not at the bottom like last year is Hutson and he is out of gas and it's pretty obvious the last few games even for the eye test and it's totally normal.

This is something else entirely. I agree. Suzuki, Hutson and Guhle are all hyper slow right now.

This isnt an excuse for the team though.

This entire post appears ridiculously and, I would hope, deliberately obtuse regard the scheduling point.

Not an excuse for the team....but the team is Lane Hutson, at least offensively.
Habs managed to win only 7 games out of 34 while Hutson is not producing

Hartley raised the lob thing too. He's right on this. We have some of the best skating D's in the league, why are we doing this ?

They do it because they spend 1 minute chasing around playing a system they arent capable of and lob it out to make a line change

It would somewhat work when Subban would do it for Byron and Pacioretty but under MSL, its the de facto breakout panic play

Its pretty evident that MSL cant stand Laine. And that he doesnt wantnto reward a "not hard working" player like Laine with more chances to become the hero and the face of the team. MSL has a big ego, and he is too idealistic, and it is costing us a playoff spot.

I think the Laine experiment needs to end. he does it to himself. His biggest issue is he has no heart, no emotion when he plays. seems like he doesn't care win or lose. He just wants his PP time and nothing else.

He is such waste of talent. very mercurial player

He had the best chance to rehab his image and he did noting with his chance. even if he has a top 3 shot in NHL, I would def consider cutting him loose for a decent return this off season

Obviously I want Demidov on PP1 as well, but this was the most predictable thing ever and probably 32 out of 32 coaches wouldn't start him in that spot either.

Also we have enough talent our PP1 should be better than it's been lately. They need a change up tactically not necessarily just adding more talent.

I haven't read a single word from this thread for months but I can assume that people who have less hockey IQ than MSL has in one of his turds are hurling their nonsensical hot takes at him lol.

That is all I have to say and I suspect it might be the most accurate thing said here in this thread.
thanks Capt Obvious

Do you think MSL also thinks Hutson is a bad skater?

What? He put him in the shootout last night. Laine playing like crap is on Laine. If anything MSL is too easy on him as he should be benched
