Sorry but this is a terrible take. The reason that the west appears to be tougher to get in is because they have by far the worst teams in the league to beat up on.which is inflating the records of the teams in the wildcard hunt.

Take away the first month of the season and Montreal is easily a playoff team in either conference despite playing in the toughest division.

This is not in any way meant to discredit Vincent as he has done a wonderful job in Laval.

The Marty hate around here is embarrassing as he has done exactly what was expected of him by growing and integrating our young talent while staying right on track with organizational expectations.

You mean the same Matheson that has almost identical giveaway/takeaway stats to Hutson despite playing the most difficult minutes of anyone on the team and almost in the entire league?

Matheson makes far more great defensive plays than he does bad plays. He makes defensive plays that only a handful of defenders are even capable of making and to fixate on the negative is to not even attempt to be objective or reasonable.

Go say this to MSL. Hughes and Gorton and see how quickly this opinion is dismissed as nonsense.

So Matheson is 4th in the league for takeaways like Hutson?

And plays who in his place? He should get fewer minutes with Guhle back but until the team gets some more players Matheson is the best option in spite of his horrible brain cramps.

Overplaying Montrmbault is less reasonable. Dobes needed games, and Sam needed rest.

Do you have any clue what "almost" means or are you going to insist on using intellectually dishonest tactics. Matheson is 12th in the NHL and their giveaways are almost even. This is with Matheson having faced tougher matchups .

I am not taking anything away from Lane at all but your double standards are gross.

Care to understand that Lane is doing that as a rookie while Mathy is a vet? There is no double standard. Only pointing out that Lane is on a better pace. Mathy is tired and needs rest. If MSL can bench him and play Struble a minute more per game, I'm sure that the D-core would benefit from that.

MSL is great, but he needs a cue to see that Mathy and Monty are fatigued.

He needs to have the same rules for all Dmen. Wifi messes up, he's gone for a few games. Matheson messes up, his ice time is not reduced. Just becuase there is no replacement does not mean he can get away with brutal give aways.

Most publications had us in the bottom five.

I didn't agree with it. I think many posters here expected around 85 points and out of the playoffs but that's certainly not where the hockey world saw us.

I just don't get how people can't see what a good job MSL has done for us. Our players have developed really well under him. Name a better coach we've had in the past 30 years.
