What jersey will Mitchell Marner be wearing in the 2025-26 season?

Your team hired a rapist and their entire management and roster tried to cover it up. Sit down, kid.
Maybe the Sharks should scour the prison's , alley's , gin joints and halfway houses If you feel it's the key to winning . You have to be sick of all that losing . I hear Jimmy Devellano needs a gig .

so just admit you are not watching the Blackhawks then outside of win/loss because Nazar, Moore, Rinzel, Levshunov, Vlasic, Kaiser, EDM have all looked really good when they played together to end the season

I think your definition of "really good" is wildly different than everybody else's definition of "really good."

As a ducks fan I don't care about the playoff shit right now. We need a first line player and Marner needs a new environment, it's clear playing in his home town can't continue. Guy needs a lower pressure environment it sucks for the leafs they couldn't just trade him

Marner is all about money. The high tax market in LA seems to have worked against them in the past.

I could see him going to the kings if he is going to California. They have tons of cap.
And competitive now still.

I honestly think it’s Vegas. They need wingers. No taxes always want the shiny toy.

My prediction is Marner goes to Vegas and they drop karlson and a D to get him done.

Homer voted Sabres. He doesn't even need to relocate.
Marner is a big name so it makes sense wanting him because we all want playoffs but it would absolutely gut our depth, contract structure and we’d lose a ton of players because we wouldn’t be able to sign them. I also think he’s more of a 80-85 pt player on the Sabres. Good, but not so good to gut the whole team. Plus he’s almost 30 and there’s a shelf life on when he’d even still be effective in his prime. By the time the young guys would be old enough to enter their prime Marner will be passed his prime and we’d lose them because the cap. It’s something a gm on ea sports thinks would work. In reality, it’s a nightmare. Marner alone might not even get them to the playoffs anyway

Marner should only get what Nylander makes > 12 mill per year….

Dumbass over paid him b4 maybe he will do it again though (Pittsburgh) …

It would be a mistake for either Chicago or SJ to sign Marner … it will wreck their rebuilds and through out their team salary structures b4 they sign their big franchise leading early 1 st round picks.

Sanjose has the forward depth from their rebuild and Chicago has the Defensive depth….

I like both rebuilds / but favour Chicago as I like building from the net out …. With good Centres and Chicago will get their 2 nd Kuck ass Centre at this draft.

almost 50% of Marner's salary is taken up by the Skinner buyout. There is 100% room with the additional 6m coming off the books in the next few years and cap rising. Even this year, we can afford to resign our guys with Marner. Idk if it is realistic to say he is worse on the Sabres. He would help their power play and we score a lot 5v5.

I really think Marner would make a lot of sense for CBJ : they have a lot of cap space, good center depth and he could help PK in addition to providing offense.
I think he gets traded to where he eventually signs in order to get the 8th year.

Only the Leafs can go to 8 years now. It’s why Marner has basically no trade value.

Marner to Pittsburgh is the idea that you can justify based on the Dubas/Crosby connection, but it makes literally no sense outside of that.
You’re right, it makes no sense. Welcome to Kyle Dubas school of GMing.

Hope you enjoy the ride. We didn’t.
Oh no the Penguins will be adding a star winger for nothing but money. The horror!
Just like adding a Norris Dman in Karlsson. How’s that working?

Whatever team gets him will get a great regular season performance

But he’s a perimeter player and he will only get worse as time goes on.

Don't all players get worse as they age? Every UFA in their late 20's will always decline eventually due to age. Not sure Marner should be blamed for aging at some point. However, if a player's points decline over time, I would rather have the guys starting at 100 points. Seems like that will age better than others.

Also, making the playoffs is hard. Having guys that can carry a team to the playoffs is valuable. Being almost point-per-game in the playoffs is also valuable in a different way. Usually, a team has other players who can/should step up in big games if one player falters. He's a great player who will get paid like one.

Apologies. I meant his perimeter play will get worse with age as he will be less effective in the playoffs and not wanting to go to the dirty areas.

I don’t see the Kings being a player in the Marner Sweepstakes. At approximately $14M average for term, along with still paying Doughty’s $11.5M and having to re-sign Kempe and Gavrikov, while in the midst of his contract, Byfield will need to be re-signed(that’s not going to be inexpensive).

With that said, there’s always the presence of the Holland Factor, so who knows? Anything is possible.

Real chance this guy is good enough to win a cup in a different scenario. We know (pending) that he cannot get it done in Toronto.

Could they use him, absolutely.

I'd still shy away from him if I'm PV though (make a token effort for job security purposes "Hey, we made an offer but he chose to go with 'x' ". It's rarely a bad look to go after an elite (regular season...) player). He'd completely mess up all the upcoming contract negotiations with all the (hopefully) soon to be very good home grown talent. "I'm creating about 75% of what Marner's producing & yet you're only offering me 50% of what he's paid, what's up with that...?"

Would it be the end of the world, no. But given PV's reputation as a hard nosed negotiator when it comes to contracts, I could see a lot of bad feelings/wanting out from many of the other players who feel that they just got shafted.
