TV: The Last of Us (HBO)

What is the difference if we are in an NFL thread and talking about a game after the fact? No one would say wait to talk about the results. I think the people who haven't seen the game or the episode shouldn't be in the thread at all if they don't want it to be spoiled for them. If it takes you 3 days to watch the episode it probably isn't that important.

What does one talk about if they are not up to date on the story?

Again if we are talking about movies then yeah not everyone can be the first one to see it. The day after Macgyver aired everyone wanted to talk about it. If you were that one kid who's mom made you watch Falcon Crest instead, that's life.

You can still discuss just use the spoiler tag for a day or so.
Otherwise I would strongly suggest not spoiling it for others.

In my case and probably others theres other things in real life going on on Sunday nights.

‘Everyone’ is relative. And not the norm here.

Like I said if you insist proceed at your own risk.

Im an old guy and have never played video games. This show had me hooked since it began. After watching the other night Im equally shocked and pissed off . Never expected what I saw.
I have mixed feelings on what goes on now and how. I will still watch but yeah Im blown away right now.
Trying to talk without spoilers almost sounds like that book report for the book you didn't read

I don't really talk that much about series in general I just don't understand what someone would talk about the day after the newest episode drops. That's all

If you look through this and other threads you will see folks using spoiler tags and in fact talking about it. They are giving courtesy to the rest who for whatever reason, time zone, Sunday obligations, etc…that havent the opportunity to view yet.
By doing so one can in fact have ones cake and eat it too without ruining it for the rest. It works and has worked for years here.

Having the full context I really don't get why fans of the games were so upset but maybe the game played it differently
It's an interesting exercise in character investment as it relates to narrative structure, especially when you consider the hypothetical.
I'd imagine reaction to everything might be a little different if the first game was from Abby and her father's perspective. A society trying to move on / function against the threat of the infected amidst the push for a cure. Then, when it seems like a miracle has been delivered and there's real hope, some rando shows up and kills your father and effectively everything you've been building towards.

Then in Game 2, gamers are pissed that they have to play the majority of it from the murdering asshole's perspective, the character who undid everything they worked for in the first game, and what, they're supposed to sympathize with his backstory and motives?

I think maybe it comes down, gamers were not only pissed from a character development standpoint (or the "end" of development, for Joel in this case), but that the notion that they were playing a heroic protagonist kind of got further destroyed when the fallout of his actions were explored more deeply.

In my opinion spoilers should be used for at least two days after airing. And always looking forward if they come from the game. Just common courtesy for all.
If anyone chooses to read spoilers tagged before watching thats on them.
Like to me right now ok to discuss Sundays episode.
That's fine but if one of these spoiler tags for the most recent episode includes something that spoils a future episode I'll be very unhappy. That exact scenario happened when I watched season 1.

Did anyone else find it hard to believe the town people stopped the zombie invasion?

Seemed like they were being completely overrun by them and then Maria let's the dogs out who kill some zombies before they cut to the Joel stuff but when they cut back it's over. Hard to believe the dogs made that much of a difference.

I'm seeing more and more posts online and Youtubers commenting how things seemed off with that attack scene. Like how none of them paid attention to Tommy on the street or how they didn't bother blocking to doors of those buildings, so that they could shoot from the rooftops safely?

If you watch them in reverse order Joel is alright.
You're not only a snitch. You're a comedian too.

This is on me. I didn't realize season 2 had started yet but I knew it was starting soon. I downloaded the last two episodes of season one as a refresher and came in here to read the chatter about the upcoming season and read your post. I just watched Ellie shoot the deer and meet the preacher. Of course, we should be able to discuss episodes days after they've aired, like you did. It just sucks that I know Joel died, which I find shocking.

I have no problem with your post. It's my fault.

I just think if a show is popular people want to talk about it as soon as it's done. For what ever reason if someone can't watch it they should wait before coming into said thread as not to be spoiled by the latest info. It shouldn't be on everybody to be the accommodators.

If I haven't seen an episode Im not going to go somewhere where the point is to discuss it, and then blame someone for spoiling it.

Yeah 100%. Feels extremely hard to believe they made it out given how things were going the last time we saw the toen before it switched to Abby/Joel.

That said I still think the episode was fantastic. Don't play video games but knew the key story points so whole this wasn't a shock... It was still shocking if that makes sense.

I'm surprised they did this in Episode 2. Will be very curious to see how the series does from here. I know at least a few people that watched entirely for the Joel/Ellie story and have flat our said they won't watch it at all anymore.

Then you have another crowd who hate Bella Ramsey....

I'm kind of expecting this to go the way of TWD series after they killed Glenn honestly.
