McDavid
Kucherov
Crosby
Malkin
but Crosby could beat Kucherov, and maybe more, if he ever had his mythical 'healthy season at peak'
Kucherov has played 7 games less than Crosby this season lolNear retirement Crosby is 1 point behind Kucherov in 5on5 points this season, while Kucherov's most common linemates are Guentzal and Point. Crosby would absolutely beat Kucherov if he had the season you're referring to today.
McDavid has 44 points in his last 23 games. Barring injuries, it will be his.
I think the point of that subset was to illustrate McDavid's production trending more upwards than MacKinnon's.And MacK has 46 in 28 games to McDavid's 48.

On the flip side of that, McDavid hasn't looked great the last 5-8 games or so. Lots of flubbed passes, pucks rolling off his stick, no confidence in his shot or dekes alone with the goalie etc. Hopefully just his yearly cold, he usually picks it up sometime after the holidays.
True, we heard the same thing last year and he never caught up, although last year he was so obviously playing hurt that I don't know how well it compares.I get it, but it's all artibtrary to the time picked. Player being hot, team playing well, etc. McDavid has this narrative on this forum that once he starts scoring he's never going to stop and he'll just accelerate until he passes everyone.
My point was to show he's not really doing much better than MacK and nothing is certain even if both remain healthy.

Prime Crosby(07-14) would be killing this league, let's be real. It's not a surprise that a lot of the current stars broke out in 17-18, the exact year goalie pads were reduced, scoring spiked, and pp percentages increased significantly across the board.Near retirement Crosby isn't that worse (offensively) than the Crosby of the last number of years. 2018-2019 is the best offensive season he's had in the last like eight years and Kucherov outscored him by a wide margin that year.
Yeah, he scored a ton of PP points that season as well. He's extremely productive on the Power Play. It's one of the reasons he's so good offensively.
Thanks for proving your point. Prime Crosby wasn't as good as Prime McDavid. McDavids PPG is also getting higher. Sky's the limitPrime Crosby(07-14) would be killing this league, let's be real. 8. Matthews 1.20
9. Pastrnak 1.18

11. Crosby 1.15 (at 30-37 yo)
It's a much softer and higher scoring game now, totally different scoring environment for stars. Cheap shots have been eliminated too, when Crosby was taking them pretty much nightly in his prime.
Prime Crosby would be top 3 every year in the scoring race, and would probably win a few art rosses. Not knocking McDavid so no need to be defensive. He's amazing, it's a shame he's stuck on an incompetent franchise. Thanks for proving your point. Prime Crosby wasn't as good as Prime McDavid. McDavids PPG is also getting higher. Sky's the limit
McDavid also gets more cheap shots laid on him, less powerplays, refs are calling less hooking and holding bcz they fear his insane PP prowess. Just because he doesn't whine and cry like Crosby used to doesn't give the edge to Sid there too.
Next.

Yes our GMs have been incompetent no doubt. Don't disagree with u there. Actually we're both wrong, they were changed in 2018 prior to the 18-19 season.I find it a bit disingenuous to count from 17-18 when goalie equipment was changed in 2019.
McDavid's PPG is 1.69 from 19-20 onwards. Doubt Crosby would be this high.
elite empty-net producerAnd MacK has 46 in 28 games to McDavid's 48.
Fact is, McDavid is the one player who's maintained close to 2 ppg for the longest periods, on multiple occasions, doing it for almost an entire season, so this trend has more probability to be maintained by McDavid, than any other player.
