everything about this thread title makes no sense...

longest win streak in the NHL? 6 games? the Jets went 8 to start the season and after a loss followed it up with a 7 game streak...

did you mean Columbuses longest streak as an NHL team? or the longest current ongoing streak in the NHL?

Could push it 9 with Rangers, Islanders and Leafs coming up =)
But then have Carolina, Kings, and Vegas =(

Current ongoing.

They have one of the longest in NHL history that I believe was 18 games a few seasons ago. They also have one of the best home records in the league..... Also one of the worst away records in the league as well 😂

Does Deano still pummel his asst. coaches after every win?

The guy tries to keep a lid on it, but he is VERY intense.

He always looks like he's a minute away from bursting a blood vessel

But he's done wonders with the club, total game-changing guy.

I remember him as a player, always game and fought quite a bit, but he was a bit of a punching bag. He got tuned up alot

Jackets Habs and Detroit just don't lose anymore , bloodbath in the east
I think the difference comes from teams they have beaten, all three have won 8 of their last 10 but their opponents are quite different.

- Montreal has beaten: Florida, Tampa Bay, Vegas, Colorado, Vancouver, Washington, Utah and Dallas (P% of teams beaten .611)
- Detroit has beaten: Washington, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Winnipeg, Ottawa, Chicago, Seattle and Florida (P% of teams beaten .550)
- Columbus has beaten: Boston, Carolina, St.Louis x 2, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Philadelphia and San Jose (P% of teams beaten .497)

It will be interesting how these teams fair with a tougher or lighter schedule. For example, the Habs have lost to Chicago during their run and play down to their opponents. Upcoming ''easier games'' against Anaheim, San Jose x 2 and Buffalo x 2

Columbus have games against the Leafs, Canes, Kings, Vegas and Dallas x 2 coming up.

Detroit have played 25 home games against only 19 road games. Upcoming road opponents include Tampa Bay, Dallas, Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver and Minnesota.

Lets also not forget Boston and Ottawa who are both fully entrenched in this race.

At the end of the day, these teams will play each other a lot before the end of the season and could decide the final two playoff spots.

Quality of competition is a good point but does it really apply in a parity NHL league where theres tons of games , back to backs , road trips.

I mean habs lost to CBJ and Chicago and got Blown out 9-1 to the pens just a month ago but beat all the "good teams" .

Quality of competition fluctuates anyways all year I don't put that much stock into it.

One hell of a race , all these teams gotta concentrate on their wins instead of how others are doing
