From watching live today, does Barzal always have such an allergy to shooting the puck? Whole powerplay runs through him but he always looked to be in a shooting position but would then last second opt for the pass maybe trying for the perfect play or something but it resulted in a lot of hesitancy which isn’t what you want on the powerplay.

Has a team ever finished last in both before?

Only looking at the expansion era (post 1967) the first team to do it was the 1969 LA Kings. 13% on the PP and 79% on the PK.

Others:

1972 LA Kings, PP 14%, PK 76%

1973 NY Islanders, PP 11%, PK 76%

1975 Washington Capitals, PP 14%, PK 71%

1976 Kansas City Scouts, PP 14%, PK 73%

1986 LA Kings, PP 18%, PK 72%

1989 Toronto Maple Leafs, PP 17%, PK 73%

1991 Quebec Nordiques, PP 16%, PK 73%

1995 Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, PP 11%, PK 76%

2010 Toronto Maple Leafs, PP 14%, PK 75%

2014 Florida Panthers, PP 10%, PK 76%

2015 Buffalo Sabres, PP 13%, PK 75%

2025 (so far) NY Islanders, PP 13%, PK 65% (!!!)
