Yup. I'm convinced some would find ways to be unhappy and complain even if we win the cup.

Just let em walk outbid the oilers for mcdavid if they dont extend him
McDavids next destination won't have much to do with a bidding war or AAV.

His target should be hockeys first billionaire, which will have little to do with making 14M or 16M on his next contract.

Some risk, but he probably gets more bang for his buck going low, like he chose to do last time.

Wow! The OP is so confused. If you based decisions solely on the playoffs, you would never make them because you'd dump all your great regular season players who get you to the playoffs.
I'm going to close my eyes and pretend you're trolling because there's no way anyone could unironically post something that spectacularly absurd and think it makes any sense.

Why would anyone be happy with that?
Well, you seem to be happy with it considering that you would entertain bringing Marner and JT back if they lose in the 1st round again this year for the 9th time in a decade and maintaining with the status quo.

These are strange threads. Do they all magically disappear if the team goes to the Cup final this season?
Lol. Let’s focus on winning more than 1 round first shall we? Baby steps.

And to answer your question. Yes, of course it would disappear if they went to the cup final. Why wouldn’t it? But considering they’ve only won 1 playoff round in 9 years, I certainly wouldn’t get my hopes up on them making it to the finals though. I do not see that happening. I hope I am wrong.

To those whining about Matthews comments after the Vegas game, I’m pretty sure they were just a reference to the fact they easily handled them in their first meeting this year.

Maybe he shouldn’t be honest and say it out loud because you all have a pathological need to find something to be mad and worked about, but I think all he was saying was we maybe came in overconfident based on their last meeting .

I think you have me confused with someone else, I’ve never said that that have to bring both of those players back or maintain the ‘status quo’.
I don’t think anyone has ever said that. My mind is just a little more open than others who think ‘every thing will be great as soon as they let Marner walk’

Regardless that has nothing to do with the whiny daily reminders that ‘ they’ve only won one round in 8 years’ , that isn’t anything new and insightful as previously mentioned.

Apparently there was a shorfall in funding so the company I work for did a wage review of all the employees.

To determine who should get a raise this year and for how much. Turns out all the managers and senior employees who make the most money have actually been underpaid this whole time. And all the chumps like me who make the least amount of money have been overpaid.

Guess who won't be getting a raise this year.

It's very clear who the 1% of the 1% are on this team. The Leafs represent the gold standard for income inequality in the NHL. If someone were to calculate the Gini index for all the teams in the league I have no doubt Toronto would be at the top.

It seems to me the Leafs follow the Galbraith economic school of thought.

If you want the rich to work harder you have to give them more. If you want the poor to work harder you give them less. Only a rich man would think that was a good idea.

Like my boss.
