Injury Report: The Injury Thread

No reason to play if not 100%. I'd even sit out players like Tanev and JT for rest reasons. Hoping nothing serious with McCabe because it would be very similar to losing Muzzin a few years back. It would be devastating.

Benoit and Myers as a 3rd pair is beyond terrible and I hope they look at Rifai and Villeneuve.

no one knows. He looked dazed AF after the ref collision and has a big history of concussions so speaking authoritatively like that seems stupid. The Leafs should have never let him back on the ice in that game.

No he didn’t. Where do you see that? The linesman bumps him and goes down, McCabe looks at him and takes a knee beside him out of concern. He looks fine and completely aware of everything. If anything was wrong with his head he would’ve left right then and there after the season he’s had.

athletes shake things off like that all the time when they shouldn't. That's literally why a concussion spotter was created, because they can't police themselves. There were a couple minutes left in a massively important game, of course he wanted to be out there.

Listening to Berube I don't think it's day to day really, he said day to day "right now" and then looked concerned. I don't think we see Jake the rest of the way regular season.

If Hakanpaa is going to be viable depth for the playoffs, he needs game time to get his conditioning up. Only so much you can do at practice. With McCabe on the shelf it might be a good time to rotate him and Myers in to get up to speed.

It sucks to lose McCabe at this point, but as long as he's healthy before the playoffs that's all that matters.

Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Jake McCabe has been ruled out of Saturday’s game against the Montreal Canadiens, and Sunday’s game against the Carolina Hurricanes, head coach Craig Berube confirmed Friday.
McCabe is expected to return before the end of the regular season, Berube said.

Leafs running 5D in Montreal due to injuries.

Probably the worst time of year to face injuries. Hopefully we win both games this weekend and Tampa loses tonight so we clinch 1st and can rest until (likely) Saturday

What’s the status of McCabe? Will he be back for game 1? Oh and wow I forgot about OEL. Will he be back?
They will both play game 1. The leafs have had no reason to play them over the past few games, so they've taken advantage and given them both rest.

Any update on Kampf or Pacioretty. Will either of them be options for game 1?

Pacioretty can't be taken off LTIR due to cap reasons, but he's pretty much ready to go apparently. Not sure he'll play if everyone is healthy though... he hasn't played in 2 months.

Kampf should be ready to go.

You think so? To me it’s just Berube being coy about it but I’d bet they’re 100% playing game 1. Dreger was on 1st Up yesterday and while I think he’s a blowhard his belief is that their injuries aren’t serious and they’re just using the time they have for rest.

Hope you're right.

I guess I just have PTSD from all the injuries in last years playoffs.

Bob McKenzie says OEL is touch and go for Sunday.

On McCabe, he’s trending better than OEL. Vibe he could play on Thursday but it’d be a surprise if he did.

Kampf also has a chance for Sunday.

Says Pacioretty has a chance that he’s up to game speed and could play on postseason.
