Well that blows. That's a serious blow to the team, as Tavares has been carrying a lot of weight this season. But this is catastrophic for Tavares himself. He was authoring quite a season, and who knows how things go after an injury. I hope he comes back the same as before, because he's been a high point for the whole team at the half way point.

What a stupid fluke of an injury.

Best thing for him is to come back when he's ready to come back and not before.

From the looks of the video available to us, I would guess knee sprain or groin.

Now the pp might start working.. This also increases three chances of getting another centre at the deadline which we need
 
When you need Someone up the middle having these high priced wingers is so useless. I swear if I managed a team I wouldn't even have an elite winger at 10m+ Strength from G to top 4D and then straight up the top 3C.
 
IR until day 1 of the playoffs incoming. Leaf's finally going to start playing by the rules of previous Stanley Cup champs?

Opens a plethora of trade deadline (or sooner) options to explore as the cap situation may have just become a lot more manageable.

This, in my irrelevant opinion, needs to be the All-In year. Cup or bust, and this very unfortunate injury (I like how Tavares has played this season) may work to the Leaf's advantage (if they seize the advantage) for a change......

Yeah, he's not going to be out until April....
 
Hopefully Tavares will be back at full strength following the 4 Nations Cup. Terrible luck for him and the team to get injured that badly in practice.

Minten is going to get another opportunity to step up.

Wouldn’t have been on the ice for it to happen if they’d break up that ineffective powerplay unit.

Ok it still might’ve happened, I’m just bitter about this team continuing to do something that wasn’t working. Now a key piece is out weeks because they refused to do anything about the PP besides repeatedly running the same crap.
 
Our day to day injuries have gone for weeks this year.

Is week to week gonna run 3 months? lol.

Tavares Initial prognosis, out 2-4 weeks... a little more optimistic this morning, will assess after 7-10 days.
